Nothing red in the event log. Mackoti didn't attack but he's positioned his units intricately, so he must have a plan.

He birthed a great artist in Thebes. That's a bit inconvenient. He can settle near puck and culture bomb to reclaim a lot of land. We can settle that hill we're planning to block any cities from being founded, but I guess Mack could still bomb Ephesus orThebes and I'm not sure if that would flip our city.

Hmmm, I'm intrigued. There has been some fascinating strategy on both sides.

Annoying. Well we can get a missionary in straight away, popping borders in 5 turns, and we'll need a whole bunch of units in there anyway. So it might be ok. It's worth working out which tiles he will control if he does that - we wouldn't want the supply line from Puck interrupted.

Anybody know the mechanics behind culture flipping? How many units are needed to keep a city unflippable?

Don't know that, but if you mouseover the culture bar it will tell you the odds of revolt. IIRC, the first revolt never flips a city so you have a bit of safety margin at least.

Yeah, I think it's three strikes and you're out. And from my SP games I think 15-20 units, which we may well have in there anyway, should be enough to keep the odds below about 3-4%.

EDIT: Or two strikes, novice says. Anyway, mackoti would presumably strike at our injured units (from a revolt) with his knights.

A city sometimes flips on second revolt. A city always (I believe) flips on the third.

This matches my experience.

additional: A captured city can not flip back to the original owner unless specifically set in the game-options.
