All the end turn things (production, food gathering, culture, EPs) happend the moment you hit the end turn button. I think it's because the sequential turn order.

I think we should. Who is in our diplo team?

Ah, right... in that case perhaps it's the other way around. If they met us last turn, then we'd expect to see some EP's from them invested into us. Unless they met someone else first and turned off their EP on us... though that seems unlikely given they only have 1 Scout and it's only a few turns into the game.
Hmm, assuming they met us on turn 6, they'd have travelled a maximum of 14 tiles minus 1 tile to see us (the minus 1 because they moved away to hide after encountering us). In other words, we can deduce a maximum of 13 tiles between their Scout's initial position and them seeing a tile inside our border (which would be at a maximum distance of 4 tiles from our capital). So even if their Scout started 2 tiles away from their Settler in our direction and headed straight for us (with no detours), that'd mean an absolute maximum of 13 + 4 + 2 tiles = 19 tiles possible between their capital and ours. Remember, that's an absolute upper limit - the true value could be considerably less than that.

Right. It's potentially close enough that I'm wondering about turning our warrior around early.
But then I'm probably being paranoid, as I just died on T13 of a different game.

Don't worry
The contact was probably made by scouts on turn 6.

Me too
But going to the point:
Do we have a diplo team, or at last a person who can conduct diplomacy?
Who will create and send greetings to Gillette Team?

HitAnyKey asked me to play this turn, since he couldn't play for some time.
Plenty of news. Our scout tells us that there is corn that our llamas can grow fat and healthy on! The borders of the vile pirates are also visible! Neigh-Arr!
Our warrior has little to report, however.
(1600x900 is a tad large to put unspoilered, and if needed I can do 1920x1080 screen shots.)

Anyway, I got a real case of worry once I found the borders of the Pirates, and whether or not to move the warrior NE. Their capital is 11 tiles from ours, if I count the tiles correctly, but we have visibility on most of the tiles in-between, so I risked moving our warrior away.

If their warrior is heading our way, we would already seen him.
Our scout covers almost entire space in between our cities.
PS: Not a crowded Pangea huh? I wish we have some Impis now.

Sweet! It's nice to know exactly where they are right now. And without them knowing exactly where we are yet, since if their scout met us only 2 turns ago there's no way their scout ever saw our borders.
I'm thinking we should move onto that hill to the NE, before coming back around to the SE of our city. I think it's probably petty small possibility that they would have a warrior positioned next to that hill to be able to attack us. So I think it's worth the risk to get a nice hilly view.
Also nice to see more food around the area of the gold.

No - we haven't met the Pirates yet. We have met team Gillette via a fleeting scout to the north, and now we see the borders of the Pirates. But we don't have contact with the Pirates until they see us too.

Oh, my bad. I was confusing the names.
In that case, I think that seals my original thought. The Gillette scout did NOT meet us in the north. That just doesn't make sense with the Pirates right in that area. This makes me 99% sure their scout must have brushed up against our city border and then backed away so we wouldn't see where it came from.
We might want to consider doing a similar tactic with the Pirates. It would waste a couple turns of scouting so as to get into position, and then move in and back out again. But to keep them in the dark as to where we are might be a good idea.
