Turn 68
Scouting:
There are three GG warriors down by Neapolis, all with promotions available. 3 turns till IW. Gitara uncovered tundra horses. Also, I noticed that our grass deer is now forested. I'm 95% sure that it started unforested. Elayne found GG's silver. That snow deer is a horrible tile.
Cities:
I lose a whip anger in Server Problems next turn, so I'm switching off the Worker for a turn to grow. I'll switch back next turn. Silent Neighbor's library was a bad call, but now that we have it, should I go ahead and run the scientists? We need all the research help we can get. Bad Econ can 2-pop whip it's Library next turn. I think I'm going to do that. In Gov't Shutdown I'm putting another chop into the terrace. I know it's largely wasted, but I don't want to lose food and commerce by working a 0-3-0 tile over a 3-0-2 tile, even for just one turn. This will let me cottage a river grass tile for the next pop point.
Overview:
I'm moving the axe so that it can protect Server Problems and Gov't Shutdown from barbs. It will also be able to cover the next city going northwest of the cap. You can see a barb warrior south of Gov't Shutdown. I'll have 2 quechuas to hit it with next when it moves onto the FP next turn. In the south, I noticed that BowAivo are taking advantage of our OB agreement. I wonder how I missed them before, I'll need to look over some old screenshots.

If its not too late I'd work the mine in silent neighbour to grow earlier, then work two scientists.
I don't think you can whip that library can you?
Completed: RB Demogame - Gillette, PBEM46, Pitboss 13, Pitboss 18, Pitboss 30, Pitboss 31, Pitboss 38, Pitboss 42, Pitboss 46, Pitboss 52 (Pindicator's game), Pitboss 57

Too late for t68, but I'll see if we can still grow a turn faster if I switch to the mine next turn.
You're right that we won't be able to whip the library yet. I don't know why I thought that we only needed ten hammers invested before we could 2-pop whip. We actually need 30, so it'll be a few more turns before we can whip.

No time for a full report just yet, but the EggHeads did stumble across one of our scouts:
Checked our email, and sure enough, they got right to us with a very positive and very informative message:
Quote:Dear YossarianLives and Caledorn,
Our unit just met your mighty Quechua 'Elayne'.
Our capital is 7 tiles north from 'Elayne'.
You are the 5th team we've contact so far. Orgy, CareBears, M&M and SutOxy was our contacts before.
If you wish to contact CareBears, your quechua should continue in NE-E direction.
We could help you with info about map via trading screenshots if you like.
Our team is wellcome all kind of cooperation between our civilizations. Such as:
- NAP
- OB and establishing trade routes.
- EP agreement
- Border agreement, if necessary
- Fair trade of screenshots and information
- Anything else?
We will consider all information from you as confidential and won't share it with other teams.
Could you agree to do the same?
It was just a short greeting message, I hope we'll send you a proper one shortly.
All the best,
TeddyKGB of EggHeads.
Caledorn, are you able to work on a reply to them? If you're still busy moving, let me know and I can put something together.
Oh, and in the excitement of meeting the EggHeads, I almost forgot to mention that our western scout will uncover the Little Ponies' borders next turn, so lots of diplo to work on.

Caledorn and I had a short chat about the message this morning:
Quote:Caledorn:Eggheads call THAT a too shirt greeting message? That is a very very positive and nice greeting7:01 AM
I like that we now have the info that the ice and tundra is indeed placed in the middle of the continent7:02 AM
YossarianLives:Yes, very interesting. Toroidal maps are so screwy7:03 AM
Caledorn:Yeah. I'm sure plako did that on purpose to confuse the players7:03 AM
YossarianLives:Lol7:04 AM
What do you think about their message?7:04 AM
Caledorn:I really liked it, and I think we should respond in turn with an equal level of information to them. I always like players who show trust like that, as they usually prove good cooperation partners.7:05 AM
How about your thoughts?7:05 AM
YossarianLives:I don't envy their position. The first three teams they met are the top three in score7:09 AM
I really like the message though. Very friendly and cooperative7:10 AM
The speed with which they sent it makes me think they'll be on top of their diplo7:10 AM
Did you see the email before I posted it?7:12 AM
They sent it like an hour after they played last night7:13 AM
I agree we can respond with similar info. Who we have met, General location of our capital, agree to NAP7:13 AM
We need to tell BowAivo we've met them7:14 AM
I don't know if we should direct them to GG7:14 AM
I would like to know if any of the other teams they have listed have met GG
And I went ahead and sent them a short confirmation email:
Quote:Hi Teddy and Team EggHeads,
Just a quick note for now confirming receipt of your email. We like your suggestions a lot. Give us a little time to discuss and we'll get back to you with a full response shortly.
Blame Caledorn

Sent the following to BowAivo:
Quote:Hi there,
Just wanted to send you guys a quick note that one of our scouting units bumped into an EggHead chariot northeast of our lands. How are your explorations going?

So, I didn't move Elayne when I saw EggHeads, thinking I should finish healing and stay on defensive terrain. But since their message seemed very friendly, I logged back in and moved.

Alright, so diplo time.
To the Cannibal Ponies:
Quote:Greetings classical_hero and Halvgud!
We are very pleased to meet your team. Our scout Moiraine is just east of your borders. A warrior from BowAivo's team is coming right behind us, so I assume they'll be making contact with you soon. They're your eastern neighbors, and we're on the other side of them.
Would you guys be interested in a NAP to T110? We look forward to peace and cooperation between our two teams.
Blame Caledorn
To EggHeads:
Quote:Hi again TeddyKGB and Team EggHeads,
We were really happy to read your email. We appreciate your openness and suggestions for cooperation. You are the 3rd team we met, after BowAivo and Glorious Gladiators. We actually just met the Cannibal Ponies the turn after meeting you. Our capital is about 9-10 tiles southeast of the Silver tile that retep is on. Before meeting you we did not realize that there was a land wrap across the snow / tundra. Are all the teams you met north of the tundra?
We're happy to have a NAP with your team. How does T120 sound to you? Open Borders also works for us. Go ahead and propose it in game, or we'll do so next turn. As for an EP agreement, we'll stop spending after we get your graphs if you want to agree to the same. We're willing to discuss a border agreement, as we appear to be north-south neighbors. Right now we don't plan on settling that snow / tundra between us for quite some time so just let us know when you're ready to discuss it.
Again, we're really pleased with your opening message, and we're looking forward to peace and close cooperation with your team.
Blame Caledorn
The thinking being that we want friends and allies on all sides if GG is going to remain silent and unpredictable. They're getting IW next turn, after all!
And finally, something for BowAivo:
Quote:Hi again!
It seems contact comes in pairs. Our scout Moiraine just found classy's borders. If your warrior keeps heading west, you'll find them in a few turns.
It's late here and I'm pretty tired, so those messages might be crap. Comment on them and we can send them off tomorrow.
