Long time no update
Overview shot  Borderlands. I mostly like them. The actual cities aren't hills or out of 2-mover range, they were placed more to maximize useful territory, but there's this nice(?) useless land at the corner + molach that means there's really only 2 cities to conceivably defend. If someone wants to march through the tundra to raze brahma... w/e  I only have 1 more city to settle, settler coming out next turn. Focus has shifted towards growing tall and recovering in GNP, as you'll see below. Considering MC next, +2 happy cap with the cheap forges. Also Monotheism (mostly finished from back during the Judaism attempt) -> Monarchy -> Feud is tempting. I have a Great Prophet sitting in the cap waiting for a needed civic switch to throw the golden age, probably HR + Vas. Still no currency, without alphabet (or more neighbors with alphabet) it's only worth ~15 commerce a turn with TR. I'm actually more attracted to the wealth building potential, but can't justify over happy cap boosting tech atm. Markets would boost happy cap but 150 hammers is a lot. Demos  I really hope that is with wealth builds  Something lies out there. Either another occupied continent or an astro-locked island would be pretty important. Commmmerce.

Thanks for the update! So, with your new settler, you'll have 13->14 cities, and currently have 62 pop? Did I add that up right? That's a nice, healthy empire! How many workers do you have? And what classical-era techs do you have in total?
My Broad Problem
I have an unclear medium term strategic objective. Neither AT or Ichabod are looking particularly edible. AT has very large power (though see below), Ichabod has construction + better teching atm, though I have higher current power. I doubt I could really consume either of them sans dogpile. So right now just trying to revive economy, which is progressing pretty well. But that isn't going to win me the game. But not sure what else to do immediately since I don't think I could actually beat one of my neighbors solo until I have a solid tech advantage, which isn't plausible until like guns, and even then obviously only if I outplay them domestically. Maybe worth grabbing optics to see what those islands are. I think the map-twist was take all the normally available off-coast islands and move them a few tiles out to become astro-locked. If their size is roughly normal otherwise, that could be about 6 or so cities, a 50% boost to empire size. Though even if I'm right about that I couldn't actually settle them without Astro. Tech Path Currency alone looks... bad. Unless I get other alphabet people to also give me OB. But ~33 turn payback times aren't pretty (what currency roughly is solo). Alphabet->Currency has about a 20 turn payback time. Final option is Mono (has like 10 beakers to go) -> Monarchy -> Feud. Throw golden age once I tech monarchy (I have a prophet sitting around), switch to HR, and then add serfom + vassalage once I tech feud. Good civic set, but no explicit commerce boosters. Alphabet->Currency I think is the play, except really not feeling super good with no more military tech since Ichabod got construction and is now teching monotheism (potentially on way to feud). I'm liking all the espionage from my ziggs, up yours code of laws! Foreign Policy Other thing worth thinking abotu is a Moloch/AT war just happened, and now AT appears to be moving a GG + Keshiks south to the newly-discovered (on my part) Adrien. Maybe worth thinking about taking advantage there and hitting AT in the back, on the other hand if he then declared peace and wheeled around not sure I could hold if Ichabod decided to redeclare at the same time.

 Demos are good, but I anticipate falling behind if I stay at 14 cities.  Alphabet/Currency will also let me turn that production into teching, if i so choose. Power, would be worried abotu AT but been seeing where his military is going with the scout
