I don't know what you mean. Some of my best friend are Visigoths.

While I like the idea of barbs and I always play with them on. It's just such a huge blow to lose some of your early units to the barbs.
"When your first warrior die, it's a tragedy. When 100 knights die, it's just a statistic."
-Joseph Stalin
I specifically remember getting two exp before from a spear killing a barb warrior at 99%. But I don't know why I only got 1 exp from killing a bear at 77% odds. It's probably not very casual to try to figure out exactly why though.
Here's some pictures:
Note the position of MrCairo's warrior.
Am I getting (warrior?) rushed?
Posting the demos while they look good(ish)!
We will pick up the copper mine next turn for a boost 6 extra hammers.

Attacking gains more Xp than defending

You get less xp for defending than attacking. On attack it's something like:
<50% - 4xp
<75% - 3 xp
<98% - 2xp
>98% - 1xp
And half as much on defense (except that its actually relative strengths of units so there are times those percentages will be wrong, but they are usually correct and a decent rule of thumb.)

Apparently Mr.Cairo is much better player than me:
Third city spot, as requested:
Triple food resources, too good not to settle ASAP.
Meanwhile, Jowy (Joao of Russia) settled his third city, the first to do so.
BGN's been camping the turn timer for some reason, turn split perhaps?

There's flurry of people settling their third cities last two turns.
The bad news is that both of my neighbours settled towards me.
This is going to be really awkward for me.

I declared on Mr.Cairo, he settled a quick 4th city on t48, so I thought perhaps he didn't have the units to defend his pink dot.
Unfortunately, I only have one spear that was auto-upgraded from an earlier warrior build. I attacked and killed a warrior but the spear is too injured now to take on his second warrior. So I offered peace.
I'm 100% sure it's pink dot at this point judging by his suspicious warrior movement earlier. Earlier in the game,he should have seen my dip in my power graph and know that I only had 1 warrior in my entire empire and could have easily threatened my capital with his warrior. Instead he run around my border and killing barbs for me. No doubt to clear his way to plant his front city.
There's my explorations/monster progress so far:
It's going to be pretty tough for me to win this one I think, I'm sandwiched between the score leaders, Mr.Cairo and BGN. Also, judging from the EP's, Mr.Cairo haven't met anyone else and is completely focused on me.
Btw, is OT4E dedlurking Mr.Cairo? He seemed to have posted a lot in Mr.Cairo's thread...

No. Mr. Cairo seems to be new in multiplayer and he sometimes asks questions about mechanics. I am following several threads here, and I do not help him by anything related to the current game.
Btw, thnx for reporting, I am following your thread also and it is pretty interesting.
