Yeah, but Supedeath did have CRE so it would have been third ring by the time. Mind, it wasn't supposed to be easily insta-collectable, but it's real hard to avoid it when settling on.

Interesting to see this devolved into 2 three-person continents.

I approve of all this farmer's gambit punishment going on. Settle your copper!

Love yal, but thats just shit. lol

You are aware that you could have done the same thing he did, settling on the horses to instant-connect them? Yes, there was a larger walk distance to your horses, but they were in the safest spot possible that wouldn't overcrowd.

Yours were by far the roomiest lands, but the one challenge you had was the natural bay around your capital.

Also, why was your warrior on the cows to be killed early?

Moving 6t on a settler to settle ON horses. A much MUCH longer walk distance to mine as compared to his. This entire map is FAR too crowded/small. If i knew it was going to be duel sized islands id have picked Egypt. Looks like im not the only un-happy player either. Maybe i missed it where it was supposed to be a super close quarters game? Otherwise, shit. Love ya, but that was shit.

My warrior was there 1. Because i had briefly thought about abandoning the capital and just moving everything north. THEN i saw that he could fork both cities, and i couldnt safely get my settler to my 2nd city/EVEN HEAD FOR MY HORSES, without it being smacked by chariots. 2. it was to go and try and defend a copper city. 3. I thought it would have better odds across a river. /shrug

Wasnt a farmers gambit. I dont think Greenline or myself were actually doing any form of farmers gambit.

Monarch barbs do not require rushing for copper. There is NO need to do so unless you are rushing someone. (or you are a green)

Game wasnt advertised as super tight quarters. Shouldnt have had to put mountains in between mjmd and myself to create an illusion of distance. There being only 1 crossing between TBS/Nauf and Mjmd/myself is also really dumb imo.

Having the most land to expand into doesnt mean jack if you dont have all your strategics nearby and someone else can (didnt catch if he randomly settled there and ended up being horses, or founded ON horses for that reason) settle for copper and horses, instant, with closer distance than when i rushed Krill with maya. smoke

Unless TBS pulls some voodoo out of his back pocket, Mjmd wins this. Betting 20$ paypal.

I think all the scout-only no-barb games have adjusted everyone's expectations too much of what's safe. Being able to build nothing but warriors 40T into a game is inherently very risky. We just have been playing settings for a long time that minimize this risk. CtH switching everyone to a Scout start is arguably the most responsible for this. Chariot rushes in particular are so fragile because it takes one spear to kill it dead and even one archer can easily kill 2 Chariots in a city on a hill with 20% culture while also being cheaper.

Oh, and I would happily take this bet.

Likewise, I'll split you. Even with the land opened up the rush isn't costless, and TBS is already on the same number of cities with a American library to boot.

TBS has to deal with Nauf as well.

So we have a bet then fellas?

Yep, happy to bet 10 NZD against Mjmd winning. Not sure how we'll handle redeeming tho.
