[SPOILER]Ruff plays PBEM - who knew?

The outline I posted above is lifted from my T103 report. That report also contains the following ...

Now - if I am going to land THG, I may as well try and get some new cities down to benefit from the free population. I currently have 10 and my current plan calls for me founding 4(!) new cities on T107, just prior to THGs completing.

Firstly - here is the plan pictorially ...

The red lines are settler movements, the blue lines are galley movements. Ok, sure - full of confusion.

I have 4 cities marked (C1 in the North, C2 in the East, C3 on the mainland and C4 in the West). I have 4 cities on settler builds (Capital, Banana Peel, Banana Skin and K40). The settlers that are going off the mainland need to board their respective galleys on T105 ... because if they don't, I cannot found the target city during T107.
  • T105: Board galley
  • T106: Galley move, settler disembark
  • T107: City founded
Capital's settler needs to be whiped this turn (T103) so that it can run to the coast on T104 and board its galley (coming down from the North) on T105.

Banana Peel's settler needs to be whipped on T104, boards galley on T105.

Banana Skin's settler is going on the mainland but it is a 4 tile movement - hence, move T106, whip on T105. However, I need to complete a road on a forest tile (worker currently there and will road from T104).

K40's settler was the most fun. I had to move the galley in the South to 1NE of K40 ... and it just(!) had enough movement points to get there (phew). K40 settler is whipped T104.

My T104 report contains a slightly different approach after thinking on this for a day.

As T-Hawk notes above, I could whip Axe first so that I don't end up spending hammers on a aqueduct that I might not want. My thoughts between T103 and T104 were heading in the same direction, but with a slight difference ...
  • T103: put 4h into an Axe
  • T104: whip axe (4h) to completion (overflow of 35 hammers)
  • T105: whip Aqueduct (66h) to completion (overflow of 66 hammers)
  • T106: 3xChop (90h), overflow (66h), production (8h) plus stone completes THG
Sigh. Do I delay the wonder for those 4 cities? Do I change the city locations? I am not going to risk the wonder. I reduce the audacity of my founding plan to city locations I can found by T106.

Review: T101 to T110

During the 11th set of 10 turns, I held the lead. Trailing on the tech front but this last set wasn't that bad. Scooter went on a tear at the end of the set with ...
This set was about exploring. I have another WB out defogging some cities. I have found all of Scooter's cities and put my scout in Pindo-land to defog it. He is now heading for Rego-land to defog the center of that area while his galley transport clears up some of Rego's northern islands.

I finally got my first Great Person - a Scientist for an Academy in my capital.

Three wonders fell this set - Colossus to Pindo, Shwedagon Paya to Rego and The Hanging Gardens to me. I had a supreme plan to plant 4 cities on the turn I finished THG but I had to cut that back as I found I could complete it a turn earlier.

Some courthouses are starting to come on-line (EP spending up) while I had some fun with lighthouse questions.

I also found that Pindo really does hate fruit (and thus my empire!).

70 population to 57, that is indeed a nice lead. Go go Hanging Gardens.

How much of the new population is working improved tiles? (aka BUILD MOAR WORKERS)

I gained 13 population from THG. As it turned out, I also whipped away 13 pop the next turn (courthouse, forge, settler).

I have 6 scientist specialists. I have 8 population not working improved tiles - 3 of which were specially assigned to finish TGW on T110. I currently have workers in place with regards the others.

I'm counting a grassland non-riverside cottage as an improved tile even though it doesn't look like one.

Review: T111 to T120

During the 12th set of 10 turns, Pindo regained the lead. My score graph slope levelled off somewhat as I had to stop expanding to rebuild my economy. The other players certainly set the tech world alight this set.

I started the set by finishing another wonder, this time it was the Great Wall - more for denial reasons that anything else.

I found out something about trade routes as well as sussing out more Rego city locations.

I ranted against Stupendous who has been spending 4EPs against me for 30 turns straight.

I also reviewed the current EP spending of the various players.

The last few turns of the set saw Scooter land Astronomy, whip some galleys (auto upgrade to Galleons) and spike his power.

Score Track: T111 to T120

Pindo had a great set - score increase of over 200 pts, tons of tech and beakers ... and this is without him lighting off his Great Artist, MoM fueled Golden Age. When he does that, this game could be very much over.

I appreciate you asking my question Nakor, but I was expecting something more subtle...

Why did you run the EP slider early on again? I can't find it in the reports.

I got sick of dicking around with a few EPs and decided to just blow 1 turn of EPs and pick up all of the graphs.
