Genius Loki (FFH SG)

I think markets may be better, given our Barb trait.

I'd also like us to get Archery relatively soon. Mills w/ ancient forests will be pretty good, and we're going to run into health issues soon. The AI won't be able to crack Archers easily until it can amass siege or luck into useful Mages.

Oh, true. I totally forgot we're BAR duh. Definitely Markets then.

Played a set of 10.

Checked throughout to see if Rhoanna or Valledia had too much on their hands- thankfully neither went into imminent war mode, although it has to be coming soon.

An event gave us a badly-needed cash infusion. Settled the Prophet in place.

I sent Loki off immediately to capture the barb city; he found evidence of fire magic on the way down. Not sure what the cause could have been, it's too far for the Sheaim to be losing PZ and nobody has Ritualists. No volcano either. A lot of the map is going to end up burning.

Edit- didn't notice the volcano further north... looks like the mass burning has already begun.

The barbarians were very kind and founded a city right next to our capital! CAPTURE THIS SOON! The AI captured two other barb cities already on my turn, and they're spreading Leaves like crazy so we can't rely on them having to spend 10 turns building Monuments.

Speaking of cities, I grabbed the awesome barb wines city...

... and then couldn't resist taking another when Valledia handed us one adjacent.

So, we actually outnumber most of the AI in city count now, but our possessions are badly scattered about the map, and it's only going to get worse. I kind of wish we hadn't declared on Mahala, our newest acquisitions aren't too far away from her, and she won't consider taking peace...

I set tech to BW, because Copper Warriors + Axes / Swords + being able to finally work our capital bananas tile was too good to pass up, but I do think we need Archery pretty soon. I held off doing extensive chopping in case we want to convert to the Leaves- I'm all for it, but if we wait until and AI demands it we'll get an additional diplo bonus with them.

Someone who trusts their luck and card skills could also earn us a few points by challenging them all to Sominum.

Final note, we can make up for our lack of horses by building a Hippus Palace. Our current one doesn't do much for us anyway besides increase our WW, IIRC.

Thanks for the update!

Could we put the Hippus Palace in the same city as the Prophet settled? (Can't remember what flavour that city was).

Q next, right? I probably wouldn't be able to get to it tonight anyway.

EDIT: now it shows an FFH picture. I've seen that issue with image hosters before, sometimes a different image shows up than the one that is supposed to.

I've seen that with my host before as well, but assumed that if I could see the picture OK, then so could everyone else. Weird.

Yeah, Qg is up.

Sadly we only control one Hippus city atm. Barb cities default to using the Eolhim civ (which isn't all bad, Monks are okay units, Devouts will let us walk over the Sheaim, and Reliquaries are nice to have). Oddly our capital also has an Elohim palace, even though it's an Amurite city.

Quiet set. Mostly just teching to BW and moving a couple of units around.

Got a helpful event:

Which is good, considering this:

We've a good-sized garrison, but are working at a serious promotion and unit disadvantage. Could go either way, but if we're able to get copper weapons, than I favor us.

Which is why I've held off on taking the barb city yet, but the next player can reverse that.

The Amurites founded a city:

No culture, so we can capture or burn if we're quick.

Also to note that the Amurite copper (which they can see) has a) not been improved and b) we can stop from being connected by burning neutral roads. If we choose to go that route, we can also pillage the connection between their capital and gold cities. Up to you - no cost to us, as I don't think the AI recognizes that, and we're not paying unit support yet.

I left the warriors outside the formerly barb wines city because I think if we don't garrison it than those warriors will continue to hold it on our behalf.

Or hit him with lethal magical damage while he's redlined, as I found to my dismay when Blight came along in EitB29. Worldbreak or Raging Seas could do the job, too, if he's standing in the wrong place.

While I understand that it's easy to confuse Gaspar and me, I had very little contribution to his thread in that game. lol I didn't know him well back then.
