xist has gold, silver, and gems resources but has made no effort to prioritize Metal Casting tech for forges, nor pursue Monarchy for Hereditary Rule happiness. There's absolutely no reason for his cities to be capped at size 8-9 which is a major reason why he's so far behind in development as compared with the veterans continent. It was a successful rush to open the game but I get the feeling he wasn't entirely sure what to do next after it succeeded.

Right now (T103) there are 22 cities on the greens continent and 39 cities on the vets continent. Incredible.

Maybe we end up seeing a different type of Astronomy land grab where TBS & Mjmd both try to eat as many cities in the newbie island as possible?  We have seen crazier things..

I suspect it's big enough for barb cities, so might even have infrastructure.

So ya you might look at the above and go "yep its over". You might go "ya Mjmd got pointlessly hit by Nauf its over". BUT there is hope. And its in the form of a plethora of cottages. Just basic economic stuff. While I have scouted TBSs east much recently (he closed borders this turn for some reason), he has almost no cottages. I Believe he has been working coast and rep specialists. This economy does not scale. Every market I build will provide me way more value than him. Very slowly my cottages will become better than coast. A vast majority of my commerce cities are just getting to their "don't whip anymore and grow stage". I do have a GA of my own coming up and I may go for two. So if Nauf distracts him for long enough could I pull a PB75 economic comeback? Well the land is 1000% times better for it. I probably should undo my concession and get out of my sick funk.

Was waiting for this from Mjmd. Don't get me wrong, I feel really good about my TBS prediction/bet. However, it's extremely premature for him to assume it was over just due to a mild loss from Nauf. Mjmd still has more land now, more potential land later, and the fact that Nauf may pick a new target later was not exactly impossible to predict. Glad to see him scale the doomer down a few notches because the onus is still on TBS to convert the huge tech power spike he's unlocking right now. (I do think he'll do it though, obviously.)

Did you guys mean PB8, or was there extortions in PB5 I'm forgetting? Or I suspect you guys are talking about two different things.
