I was thinking that Babylon would be a leader for this, but I guess we'll find out later this year:
Quote:Gamers who pre-order any version of Sid Meier's Civilization V from Steam will receive the downloadable bonus content, Cradle of Civilization Map Pack: Mesopotamia for free when the game is available. The map pack will let players experience the traditional Western and Middle Eastern "Cradle of Civilization." The pack will include the Fertile Crescent with the Nile River valley to the west and extending east down the Tigris and Euphrates river valleys to the Persian Gulf. Leaders will be able to explore new terrain, cultures and conquests.

I think one of the challenges of these micro add-ons will be to ensure they still all keep the game balanced. I remember the epic discussions about the new stuff added in the expansions and the patches and how that affected the game balance.

Babylon is whole civ added if you get the 'deluxe' edition'
The scenario is something completely separate for those that pre-order. You can get the scenario without the deluxe edition by pre-ordering regular version and you can get bab civ with deluxe edition without getting the scenario (ie. don't pre-order)

CiV's going strong on Gamespot's "Reader's Choice Most Anticipated Games of E3". Out of 25 games it's ranked 4th with 9% of votes, beating games like Call of Duty Black Ops, Final Fantaxy XIV, Gears of War 3, new Kingdom Hearts.. I never really knew Civilization had this much mainstream appeal.

CFC linked to the site. Civ is the only "real" tbs game so the gamers do not split. Gal Civ does not count anymore. Evil civs not expanding and civs not building stuff on planets unfixed forever...

The 18 civilizations have been announced.
It looks like each civ gets 2 unique builds, which can be 2 unique units or 1 unique unit and one building.
Also there are no Mongols, Spain, or any type of Scandinavian civ, but someone will probably mod that in quickly

Also, each civ gets a "special ability". Gandhi's is "Population Growth"; this seems like it's more along the lines of the World Spell of FFH. Imagine the MP tricks one can come up with when chaining world spells...

Whilst I am pleasantly surprised that they chose to include Siam (and their Thai is passable), still no pre-order from this one . This is one where prudence demands that I wait a touch and see how the whole thing with DLC and expansions plays out first before committing monies.
