Sorry guys. Another workshop with shoddy internet means I probably will be unable to play the save until thursday. Free for pretty much rest of summer though after that!

Hey everyone,
A player has me that he popped a tech from a hut, and this tech was not a tech that was supposed to be receivable from a hut. I'll keep the player name/tech anonymous (if you haven't figured it out by C&D, I'd ask that you NOT do that in case we play on), but I'd like to open this up to you all as to how to handle it. I could ask this player to re-load back to that turn and see if he can get a different tech result... If that doesn't work, he could possibly pop it at a different time... Or you could vote to play on (which would require a nearly-unanimous agreement to be fair). Or maybe there's another option I'm not thinking of? scooter Wrote:Hey everyone, Quick clarification, this is what should be pop-able: Quote:Fishing, Sailing, Wheel, Pottery, Agriculture, Animal Husbandry, Hunting, Archery, Mysticism, Mining, Bronze Working. From this post: http://realmsbeyond.net/forums/showpost....ostcount=1 Go inside the first spoiler and chose the sub-spoiler inside that.
There are still huts around!

Not to sound like a jerk, but I would not be comfortable with just playing on. The only reason huts were left on was because the imbalancing effect was reduced.
I checked the file in the mod (which anyone could do). The techs that couldbe popped but shouldn't have been possible are Maths, Aesthetics, Monarchy, HBR and IW.

Ok, that's settled then. We are fixing the issue then before playing on. I think scooter and the popper are working on it right now. mh

Sent this to you all via email, but I'll paste it here too just in case:
Ok everyone, hopefully last email. I got a response from the tech popper, and the XML fix worked, so we're good to go. The only issue is that it will involve rolling the game back by 4 turns to T39, but I get the impression that that's a better alternative than playing on. So two things that you all need to do: 1. Apply the XML fix mentioned earlier. This will prevent the problem from happening again. Here it is again: Place the attached file in Firaxis\CIV\BtS\Mods\RB mod 1.62fTT\Assets\XML\Technologies folder. You will need to replace the old file. 2. Play your turns exactly the same as you did, to the best of your ability. Obviously if you move your scouting warrior and can't remember if you went NW or W then that's fine, but changes in whipping, tech choice, etc is a bigger deal. |
