[SPOILERS] Lewwyn frees slaves in Lincoln's Ethiopia

I think it's quite likely that he's not going to attack at all. He does need to cover his worker while farming the rice. Researching Archery is good though.

I am spoiler tagging my initial reaction to the turn for profanity. Never know who gets offended by these things.

What the fuck. This is fucking bullshit. Where the fuck does he get copper/iron and horses from so easily. My fucking horses are on the other side of the ocean on TUNDRA.

Why the fuck does this happen again. Fucking AGG opponents coming after me. I haven't done shit to anyone this game. I haven't even been seriously planning anything, instead I just get fucking attacked by Moogle and now Mackoti. No ones even bothering Moogle. This is such bullshit.

I ate some lunch and calmed a bit. Here's whats sending me in to fits of rage:

Great. A chariot, an axe and a warrior coming for me. My walls will not be built for another 4 turns. Actually my best chance is if he attacks my warrior that's on the hill with his chariot or moves his chariot 2 spaces. Then my axe can kill the chariot. I doubt he's going to do that though. Another axe finished this turn in Clammy. I will finish a spear in one turn next as well.

I got graphs on Mack this turn. He's still spend EPs on me even though he has graphs.

Not good, figures that he'll come after me. I seem to be pushing too hard in these openings, putting too big a target on my back. I figured the CTON would help me but when your next door neighbor is bent on a rush, and hell with CRE AGG why wouldn't you be. And he has horses and copper/iron so easily. I mean he hasn't settled the copper south of him and he hasn't settled the horses west of him. So he's got MULTIPLE strategy resources apparently.

Not much I can do at this point. I mean come on. My city isn't an aggressive plant its 4 tiles from my capital for god's sake.

I should be okay:

I finished an axe in Racy and a spear in Clammy this turn. I have a warrior on the flat plains ensuring that his chariot can't hit the city and target the axe next turn. I will have 2 axes and 2 warriors in clubfoot next turn, and a spear and warrior 1 turn outside the city. Plus the next axe is a turn behind that.

Clubfoot will grow in 3 turns, when it does I will whip the city to complete the walls and the overflow will finish an archer in 1 turn if I need it that turn. I have no idea what will happen but as long as I can hold out a few turns and get the walls I should be alright. Hopefully that warrior can damage the chariot some.

Seriously, right now, I'm jumping for joy.

Mackoti moved his chariot back, didn't move in with his axe and started exploring with his warrior. Thank God. He must have realized I was ready to fight him and he wasn't going to catch me unawares. I'm happy but I won't stop building units right now. I need more defense even with a spear three axes and 2 warriors behind a wall, I want at least 1 more archer.

I have, however, begun building a worker in Clammy. And I will follow the worker with a settler for my dang horses. 3T worker, 4T settler. Racy is working on an archer, and Gleaming is 2 turns from granary being finished. After the granary it will build a 3T WB for the crab or a 3T stele. I haven't decided which yet.

Also demos are looking sweet:

It's about freaking time that my micro and early plans bore their fruit. ANd its only going to snowball more. Clubfoot is still size 1 with the sheep, stone, banana, and fish still not improved. Once I get workers up there they'll be better too. I need a WB for the fish though, maybe I should build one in racy.

I have a feeling Mackoti is going to settle aggressively towards me now. He's going to try and take the banana from clubfoot and probably go for the gems across the lake. I'm fighting the urge to contest him and thus let him settle while I settle backline and work on growth. I have 2 cities I need to build behind me to get the horses and the furs. I need to focus there. Its unfortunate but the AGG/CRE traits mean I have to let him squeeze me. I just have to hop he decides to squeeze DMOC/Nakor a bit too.

I'm just really happy right now. Touch and go for a while there. YAY demos!

Just realized Mackoti likes building the pyramids. He's built them in most of his games including PB4 and has suggested it to other players in other games. I think I should hurry my build up a bit...

I think you should switch off the walls in Clubfoot and chop a stele instead for culture. Once you get to size 2 you can whip the walls at any time if things look problematic again. With the stele you can net the fish which Mackoti can't harass you about, and you won't have to worry so much about losing tiles to him there. The land tiles may take a while before you can improve, so having the fish netted is important.

Good point. I have the chop coming in next turn and the Stele already has 3 hammers into it. I can have the stele built in 2 turns. Plus if I can quarry the stone before I continue the walls they'll be built twice as fast.

We'll see how the situation develops. I actually don't trust Mackoti not to come out of the fog with a stack of axes and chariots. I think he may have held of an attack to allow the city to grow so he could capture it instead of autorazing. He wants the stone I think.

The stele helps defense too, assuming you can hold a few more turns and let the borders expand. Either way at most he'll be able to come out of the fog and park next to the city, he won't be able to attack before you can whip the walls.

Actually I don't think he can even do that. All tiles within three moves are visible, so you'd get at least two turns of warning of any big stack.

Agreed.

This turn I switched to the Stele. He has all three units stack outside my culture now and he offered me open borders. I declined as I really don't want him moving his units through my territory to less defended ends. Nor do I want him scouting me out. We don't have a trade routes yet so that would be the only reason to open borders.

Racy thighs will produce an archer in 2 turns and grow to pop 5 in 2 turns. (EOT47) Then I think I will set it to a 3t worker (T48) before then starting the pyramids(T51). That means I'm still 5 turns away from starting them. The worker from Racy will move to forest (T51) and chop into the pyramids (T54).

Next turn(T47) I will have 2 workers finish a mine next to clubfoot and the turn after they will land n the stone(T48). Then road (T49) then start a quarry that will be finished 3 turns later. (T50-T52)

I will complete a worker in Clammy EOT 47 and it will move to a forested hill in Racy T48. Start a mine T49 that will complete with chop on T53.

There is a worker that completed a road on the pigs in Gleaming this turn and will move onto another forested hill next (T47). Then it will start a mine (T48) that will finish on T52 which is when stone will be hooked up. Thus I'll have a stone multiplied chop for the pyramids coming in on T52, T53, T54 and there's one more forest in the area I will chop as well.

By that point Racy will have 6 pop and be working 4 mines, the deer, and rice I think. That's 16 hpt times 2 for stone, 32 HPT. I'm looking at an 8 turn build for the pyramids with the chops. Maybe turn 59 I'll have them. I don't think anyone can beat me right now. Mackoti shouldn't have stone. Nakor build the oracle and has MC so he's probably building the colossus. We'll see. Interesting next week.
