There's no guarantee we'll even get the religion.

We've only just begun to scout.

Think I'd move the scout NE again. Don't know if I love that Gems spot as 2nd city, simply because IW is a long way a way. More later.

I'll put my plan into a proper spreadsheet tonight, maybe it will be easier to spot further optimizations then. Since the turns are flying by I guess we may just have to run with it even if it feels like there are some unexplored options still.

TBH I feel like we'll have a lot of catching up to do come T30. Should have picked Fin/Imp. crazyeye

Let's keep scouting the banana area. Our second warrior can check out the flood plains area.
If you know what I mean.

Well, we can slow the turns down if need be. No need to get 3t days just to keep people happy if we have stuff to think about.

I pretty much agree with everything you and Lewwyn have said about the plan:
  • We can't dally, because mackoti has reason to want to go this route and has the inherent fast worker advantage.
  • Whatever plan gets Oracle out fastest without completely gimping us is the plan to use.
  • The current plan doesn't completely gimp us, but it definitely leaves us behind.
  • We're going to need to expand hard and heavy in the 30-45 period.

Here's my plan:

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?...b2c#gid=13

If you want to be able to edit it, request access and I'll grant it. (But please create a new sheet with your revision.)

Here are some pictures (edit - a forest grew north of the capital on this playthrough but that doesn't affect anything):

The worker first improves the sheep, then roads that forest, then farms the rice with the help of the other worker. Then they road the rice and cottage their way towards the flood plains.

After the flood plains, they part-cottage the riverside plains and move on to cottage the riverside grass. One worker then starts chopmining the GFH west of the capital, while the other completes the two part-built cottages, prechops the roaded forest, and chops the one east of it.

On T23, the granary is about to complete and we are starting to work cottages.

Lots of cottages.

Next up, some fancy tile configuration to maximize overflow from that warrior.

Because we're overflowing into...

This settler, which we're going to whip, and...

Overflow into this.

If you know what I mean.

This would be a very nice improvement to the plan, but I don't think it can be done. One minor issue is that the early anarchy revolting to slavery is actually useful, to give our workers more time to lay down cottages. The greater issue is that the plan has us doing our first chops on T25, and completing Meditation EOT26. So logically, if we switch things around, BW should be completing EOT26, which is too late for the chops. Or maybe not, if we just chop the hill instead of chopmining it.

So I'm not totally ruling this out, which is why I'm posting about it. Just in case someone wants to work on refinements. smile

No... logically, BW should be completing EOT25 if we switch things around, since we won't have revolted yet. So maybe this can be done, after all.

That desert hill SW-SW-S of the capital also looks like a potential second city. We don't really need the cottage S of the capital, so that could be a road instead, allowing our settler to reach that hill in one turn.

We'll have to check the area with the second warrior. One of the things about the other couple potential sites though is that sharing the rice is a really big bonus. it enables us to get our second city to size 2 in 3ts, which is huge. the rice is really well placed in the 2nd ring of the capital and that makes it really easy to find a site that overlaps with it. I think we really have to have some big benefit not to choose a second city with the rice in its BFC.

I haven't played through your plan yet zak but it that's some crazy overflow work from the warrior to the settler to the Oracle. You're getting exactly 100 hammers, which is pretty insane. There's not a lot of wiggle room here. Going to have to play some strong defense with the warriors we do have and make sure we don't lose any to wildlife. Can't explore too far.
