You going to settle north or south of the cow? Settling north of the cow catches the copper. That spot east of the horse spot looks tasty, maybe a good Moai Statues spot...clam, crab, pigs...mmm.

I want to settle on the hill east of the horses yes. And I want to settle south of the cow. Then I want to settle north of that on the plain for the copper and canal. so 3 cities there, plus a 4th filler city on the PH south of Clubfoot.

Funny you should mention that, I just built one this turn, but I'm not planning on using it for a while. At this point in the game I'm still hooking up resources and now chopping trees making mines for the pyramids. My cities have not grown too high and I'm focused on worker/settler production. I simply think that the early GNP is not as necessary as higher production and food yield tiles at this point. I have time to grow commerce, but the earlier you get workers, production and food the more snowball you get. Also consider I'm going for the mids, which would then behoove me to build farms instead of cottages in order to feed my scientists.
I just completed another 2 workers at EOT, bringing my total to 7. Horse city will settle in two turns and I'll have another settler in another 2 turns.
I was going to settle on the PH SE of the furs, but now I'm considering settling on the grass SW of that tile. With that I can hook up the sheep as soon as I plant. I'm still going to settle on the grasshill canal west as well.
Still haven't found Nakor yet. He's way up there... Nothing much else to report this turn.

I don't really think putting down farms instead of cottages just to run scientists is a good idea. That's what I meant by the Pyramids being not that great in MP. I was thinking you'd just run scientists with the extra food when you're brushing the happy cap, and cottages otherwise. It's definitely a good idea to get a quick GS out for an academy somewhere if there's a good city to put it in though...
Gleaming Eye definitely looks like a good place for some scientists. Healthy food bonus, and no riverside cottages available.

Well, if you are running 2 grass river farms and a scientist (and your other grass isn't riverside), then that is 6 food and 8 commerce/science, the same as if you were working 3 non-financial hamlets (2 of them riverside). Which frankly isn't very good - mostly you are happy to work 2/0/3 tiles because they are going to get better later.
But if the GPP turn into a great person in the reasonably near future, then the specialist/farm plan is obviously amazing. GPP (that you can use) are really powerful.

Well so far I've built one cottage and no farms. Thus, I still have time to decide. I actually think the right improvement depends on the city and the resources available. General rules don't hold up too well for optimal play.

Now I know why I can't find Nakor, he's freaking behind me!
WTF.
Nakor also only has 3 cities as expected. Anyway I'm MM tiles in clubfoot so that the pop grows in 3 and the granary finishes in 3 but so that I get at least 3 hammers overflow instead of 1. That way I only have to put one turn into a settler before 2 pop whipping it. (I decided settler over library, it will be on library while regrowing.)

I don't think so, I think he went west originally then went down south along the back side of Moogle and then came east along the bottom. Like big stupid circle.
