Island, in the only inland city.

Neither opponent took 50 GPT and peace.

This is the flimsier front. Outnumbered by quite a bit. 41 bulk and 20 siege.. Yeah it should fall.

It's not looking great!

Amicalola bombarded. I chose to make a stand here since it's a hill city. It'll fall though, but hopefully I can inflict some casualties.

We held in Excalibur, but now Commodore is doing what I thought he'd do. I'm rebuilding some roads, but it is a tricky situation.
If he waits to bombard, I will move the units out. Final stand cities should be the capital Excalibur, and Gate of Skye in the south. Both are my best cities and on hills.
Civac has a stack of cats near Commodore's borders and he is massing Knights. Definitely attacking someone.

Aw Civac knights went towards Gavagai.

Amicalola bombarded again. He has a good amount of siege, good job by him. Our longbows will still hurt.
The way I planned it in my mind, is that attacker has to bombard down defenses and sacrifice cats to take down a city. Then they need a new cat stack if they want to take another.
Of course it's not quite going to work that way here due to the dogpile. My defenses are actually split in 3 ways atm since Commodore sniped my intended front city.

Commodore got lucky and won a 29% and 50% rolls to kill my longbows and the roading workers they were defending. On the bright side, I got a GG when I cleared them up!
I moved it from capital to Shimatsuken and gave 10 longbows an extra CG level. Not bad.
I've been doing hit and run attacks at the HA's. It will be harder for him to deny roads or pillage when they're gone. I've killed 6 so far, I think.

I sent a final peace offer (+50 GPT) to Amicalola before he kills my stack there.
Commodore doesn't have enough cats, he only bombarded down to 72%. I can stall a bit more before pulling out.

Amicalola and Commodore attacked at the same time. And I don't mean on the same turn, I mean literally at the same time. The logs are a mess. But from what I can tell..

Amicalola losses: 15 siege, 6 bulk
Our losses: 20 bulk (Elementary MD captured)

Commodore losses: 7 siege, 9 bulk
Our losses: 0 (Shimatsuken holds)

Commodore didn't have enough siege. He attacked while I had +68% defenses left up and he ran into a wall.  hammer

With his losses, I chose to do one more try at peace (no GPT) to both. If Commodore peaces out, then maybe Amicalola will get scared and peace out too.

Without peace, I'm not sure how worth it is to try to defend these northern cities that have been whipped to ground.
Knights have been sighted in both Amicalola and Commodore cities. I do have pikes, but 2-movers can still be a pain in large numbers.
I turned on tech to get cheap Poly and Literature to build Heroic Epic. I wish Gunpowder wasn't a pre-req to so many techs.

My peace offers got turned down once again. Well, they'll come back begging soon enough. And you know what my answer will be  popcorn

Yeah, sorry for not reporting. I lost two cities to Amicalola, but at this point they were just a maintenance gold sink, so it's not the end of the world.
Commodore is slowly trickling in more units, mostly knights and catapults. I'm hoping to add some catapults of my own to be able to clear out his stack.
Another downside to lumbermills is that they give a great defensive tile for enemies. I cut down the one next to the capital when I realized, but I can't do anything about the tile his stack currently sits on.

Enuma Elish went down.

Amica lost 4 siege and 8 bulk
We lost 5 brave defenders

Went on some offensive against Commodore. Killed 1 Gallic (pictured), and two Knights below it. Should have been three knights but I got unlucky with one roll frown
I also killed the HA on the silk. Our pike had a near 100% chance to win, but he was left with only a sliver of health after the battle. I ended up deleting him. Not worth that one.

Few turns ago I used another GG for XP bombing. Defenders have nice promos. If the city was also on a hill, it would be truly unbreakable.

It feels like forever ago since I settled the island cities but a few of them are still small. I haven't been whipping any of them for units. Gotta prepare for the pirate life!  pirate
