I think mining it is very obvious. The choice is 3 hammers or 4 commerce, which looks like a no-brainer in favor of the hammers to me, especially including that it's a strategic resource. Heck, once you have Alphabet or Currency, Wealth or Research pays out 75% of the research value whenever you do want economy instead. Unless you're racing for a religion, the town seems pretty inferior. Printing Press and Free Speech are a rhotillion miles away.

Can't build espionage though, which is Ruff's game plan.

You just build Wealth instead and raise the EP slider. By the time he has Alphabet, he'll have enough cities and expenses to make commerce types liquidly interchangeable.

Minor point but it means you want two sets of multiplier buildings though. Not that big a deal because of there position in the tech tree.

Some stuff in this game doesn't make sense for me: Novice,Spacemanmf are at 3 cities and 2 wonders and Ad Hoc is still at 1 city with 3 pop? What did he do in the last 53 turns?

And TT is probably screwed.

Yeah, the chances of succeeding with an Impi rush with copper right next to the capital on T50 are um... close to nil. He ruined Ad hoc's game too, though, by forcing him to build all that military while the other players were expanding. novice/spaceman are clearly the best team in this game, the only way they can lose is by letting Ruff "steal" a victory, IMO.
I've got some dirt on my shoulder, can you brush it off for me?

Hmmm, looks like Krill just stole the Mausoleum from Nospace and gave it to Pegasus as a wedding present. It's right on their border though; might be a good incentive for some warfare?

I hope there's some warfare. This game needs something to spice it up. Nospace are clearly going to win but that'd be interesting at least!

I've a vague recollection that nospace were thinking of a conquest victory ... but I'm afraid I can't be bothered to go back through the thread to find where they said it to see if I'm right smile

My interest currently is whether or not Ruff_Hi can pull off his steal-to-win strategy. It feels like nospace are too strong for him to overtake & crush but Ruff's not posting much of his plans so maybe it's all under control? I'm curious - so I hope they don't call it early lol

I think Ruff should be able to keep tech parity quite easily. He probably has to secure more land though, to be competitive in terms of production. Considering that Nospace could also turn off science and use their economic advantage for rush buying, I don't really see how Ruff can win an end game with his current territory.

I wasn't following this game earlier on so I probably missed it, but why is nospace allowing techs to be stolen? Wouldn't it be worth it to build a few spies and leave them in border cities to make it more likely that missions fail and keep their tech edge stronger?
