And here we have a sandbox executed out to turn 46, the turn the chops complete. The timing works out fairly nice overall. One Worker is unmoved. The exercise is to get The Hanging Gardens as fast as possible with as many cities as possible from here. I am thinking a reasonable to shoot for is turn 52, give or take a few turns. Shall we have a competition? Points for cities, workers, granaries, etc. kind of thing?

You know, it might be possible to get Meditation in 2 turns rather than taking 3 to get Polytheism...actually, yeah, it is possible to get Mediation in 2.

Thoughts? Saves 19 adjusted beakers. Delays Monotheism though, and through it possibly Monarchy/HR. We will want to revolt to HR/OR for certain.

Teching Med saves 7 beakers on PH which then saves 35 beakers on Monarchy. That's a total of 42 (base) beakers saved on a 56 beaker tech. If we teched PH before Writing we'd save a further 10 beakers there. Yay meaningless numbers.

I'd be interested to know - but why would you take Med instead of Poly? Poly is a pre-req for more useful techs no? Is it just for the fact that Med is quicker and the only goal is religion?

EDIT - and then you editted your post to explain.... lol

Well, saves a turn so might be able to HG a turn earlier, but it also opens up Monasteries, which we'll want at some point, and Monotheism could reasonably be put off until after HG...we almost certainly would not revolt to OR until after we had Monarchy which comes way after Maths for us. Yes, we'll need Polytheism but as you said, right now the only aim is a religion if it doesn't impact Henge.

On that note, if we did luck out and get Med first, there is a half decent chance that it lands in third city on the turn it grows (about, what, 30%? Figure is pulled form the nether regions though) and that would mean no need to slave the obelisk so early...so there is an argument for going to Med.

I still like Polytheism because of the follow on techs. If we lose it, we can always go for Monotheism before Writing->Mathematics, although that obviously delays The Hanging Gardens. That will be an interesting decision.

We would not even need to slave it. Hmm...this is interesting.

It's amazing what overflow can do to a game.

Of course, it is also theoretically possible that we get 2 religions, and we could very easily shrine both of them.

Other point is that we could still get Sailing instead of a religious tech if we wanted to, but hey, we could do with the raised happy cap. Put me down for getting a religious tech before Masonry, and I'm not that fussed which.

So right now, Buddhism and Judaism are still available?

I would say if we can get a prophet, that grabbing one would be great.
