Is that character a variant? (I just love getting asked that in channel.) - Charis

I think you can load a save game from any file, and it will show the default location for loading when you select the option in the menu.

OK, I've got it into a working situation: compatibility mode 9.0.x is enough with the AMD graphics card, I'll try with the nvidia card later. But the save file location is the biggest problem now: I can't actually load the game unless the file is in the right location. Until I can figure that out I'm kinda stuck, but I think I'll get this figured out tonight. Just need to run for food.

Turn played. For future reference the hotseat save folder in Linux is:

Code:
~/.steam/debian-installation/steamapps/compatdata/289070/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/Documents/My Games/Sid Meier's Civilization VI/Saves/Hotseat

I had to start a new hotseat game, save a file and search for it. This implementation is simply obtuse.

I'll be able to play my turns on the usual schedule now, but I will swap back to the 4070 (overkill for strategic view and OpenTTD but hey) to see if it still works, for research purposes. Thank you for bearing with me.

Just a heads up, I don't think that I'll be able to play a turn in the mornings anymore, at least Mon-Wed when I have to go into the office. I'll still be able to play the turn in my afternoon/evening.

tl;dr bug is a discrepancy between the era points from a great person recruitment in game and that shown in the civilopedia.

I found it when buying a great person in game. To be candid (and I don't quite know how to put this), I think a replay without the purchase is justified: No combat is affected, no other consequences of the situation. If the civilopedia stated what actually happened then the GP wouldn't have been purchased, if the game reflected the pedia then it wouldn't be a problem.
