[SPOILERS PB71]Krill: By the numbers, when the walls fell (on everyone else)

Cities, out of order of settling, but in order of how they affect immediate plans.

Pear will build a library and NE. Longer term, if the game went to the Industrial era, it can work biology farms and specialists, so NE is not misplaced IMO. In the next four turns it will either generate a 61% GE, which I can use to steal University of Sankore in Apple, a 35% Great Spy, which I use to scout out Commodore before using for a golden age to get into Mercantilism, or a 4% Great Prophet, at which point I consider eating Bing for the self shrine. I need to generate enough wealth to run 100% science for four turns (I have enough for 2.5 turns) to finish Civil Service eot165 and Paper eot166. The GE is never at risk, but the 1K beakers for Paper might be "wasted", or more realistically delay getting into Merc. Pear is essentially fire and forgot for now.

Biggest issue is if I do use a GE to steal Sankore, then I will need to cripple Pear after the NE is down to push out the 500 point GP here (doesn't matter what I get, the Apple pool is 100% GS). Simplest solution is to eat the turn of anarchy because of how important Merc is, even losing 2 commerce per city is irrelevant when every city gets a 6 yield free specialist which also gives 2 culture.

I still regret whipping the Great Library, I'll ask Bing if he was building it after the game. If he wasn't, then woops.

Given that UoS would get built entirely by a GE, Apple has nothing to do except grow to maximum size. I was planning to build an overflow chain, but that is not needed right now. The missionary is for Pomegranate, then it can finish a confucian temple in hope I land UoS. After that, prebuild units whilst waiting to revolt into Theocracy. There is nothing else to build: I'm not teching DR for Spiral Minaret, and Nationalism is a long way away for Taj, and Education for Universities and OU happens after Guilds and banking, not before (but grocers and a couple of banks go down ASAP, before knights get built). The age of game changing wonders is almost over.

Sistine is coming along nicely, and will finish the turn after the GA ends (I'm going to revolt out of OR and into Theo and Bureaucracy at the earliest opportunity. After that just get the last relevant religious buildings in for culture (I'm still losing the inner ring) and then the grocer and bank, fit in units where possible.

No, this version of RtR is essentially CtH but with RtR leaders and civs, plus the sword changes. It has flaws, but the problem with Serfdom is that no other player can afford to use it without hte ability to get back into slavery because without slavery no one can defend against me. So I left the GA late to make the other players (except Commodore) stick with slavery and slow down the tech pace, which has worked out quite nicely for the past 50 turns.

Chopped a forest to enable farm chaining to the jungle grassland, to get a one turn market. Then going to fit in the aqueduct and temple as one turn builds using units as overflow. No change to the plan: grow to size 18, work every tile, build units. Build castle ASAP, don't lose the city (acts as an anvil for Commodore to smash himself against).

Recipient of missionary from Apple. Overflow hammers to finish forge eot165 and then wealth builds. I need five more workers, but I'm only building three which will have to do.

Second worker being built, but onto wealth builds T164. Worker will chop the jungle then work backwards. Monastery and temple to be built once Paper is in hand, culture is not that pressing. Will give up the ivory to work the grassland farm once complete, with chaining that lets Olive grow as large as is needed. Aim is size 7 to work two lumber mills, as a minimum but happy to leave pop for potential second GA and draft fodder.

Missionary for Raspberry after the forge is built. Windmill over the plains hill mine, farm the last two tiles. Wealth after missionary.

Third worker of three. Built in two with slight food loss to micro around the lack of OR hammers. Build wealth T164, finish library T165, then carry on the wealth on T166. Leaving all the forests because I want to build National Park here if the game goes that long. I would build Taj elsewhere (possibly Rhubarb), I would not want to clear cut for Taj. I don't see who could possibly challenge for it? Thoth has to head to Guilds or the game could be over before he even reaches N
ationalism.

Forge into wealth, but will build a temple and monastery regardless of UoS to ensure culture defence.

Forge into...no idea. It doesn't matter right now. Just grow. Don't need the aqueduct or Grocer until size 14, and the forge keeps the city happy until size 17. Farm and windmill, then cottage over once at chosen maximum size.

Bing, for some reason, is about to spread Confucianism to Carrot. I'm not going to look a gift horse in the mouth and will build a monastery to get to 40% culture and control the approach

Forge into monastery remains the plan, but will be the first city to swap to wealth if needed.

Zigg into wealth into forge into monastery.

Granary into Monastery into market?

I suppose I should say why the focus on University of Sankore.

It's simple. A week ago I decided it was worth trying to derail Commodores plan to land all the Monk wonders, and I re-evaluated how much use I could get out of it given just how hard all the other players are trying to not get to Guilds. I worked out rough overflow plans and everything. Then Thoth bulbed Paper and I figured, hey, that's good enough if it stops Commodore from getting it. Then I realised I have high odds on a GE, and I can limit the exposure, and because of the delay in the GA it seems pretty solid with limited cost (worst case scenario, I land Paper and the next turn Thoth completes UoS before I can use the GE).

And even in that case, it leaves open the early Printing Press into Rep Parts play for the second GA for "early" rifles.

Why do it? Between Mercantilism, Representation, UoS, the highest MFG and a spread religion, I can essentially forget about maintaining positive gold generation and just build units to drown everyone else in unit costs. I won't have to attack anyone, but I can make everyone else lose by trying to defend. And go far enough down that line and I can eat Bing quite easily whilst defending against Pindicator and Commodore.

Quick update after a double turn Saturday: Just played T164, finish Civil Service eot165, I know I have enough gold and wealth builds in hand to finish Paper eot166, so the remaining questions are do I get a 65% GE eot165 or not, and does Thoth finish UoS by his T166.

Pindi is using his extra EP from his new court houses to try and get tech visibility on me. No issue with that, but I don't want to lose tech visibility on him so I'm moving EP around between Pindi and Bing to maintain tech visibility, and Commodore, to get city visibility.

I can revolt into Bureau on T167 (I think), but that fits well with knowing if I land UoS or not. Therefore everyone will know I have CS by then if they check the even log, but they will know the turn before if they look at F6 and have Feud or CoL (so Pindi, Commodore and Thoth, for sure, and who cares if Yuri or Bing know).

Played T165. Got the GE, Civil Service is in and Paper is due eot166 (next turn) at 100% science with about 20 gold to spare after turning every city onto wealth except the cities building granaries, wonders and Potato building a forge on max growth. Confirmed that Thoth bulbed Paper.

At this point, Commodore cannot beat me to UoS whatever he does, due to turn order, even if he had an absolute perfect overflow chain and chops lined up for a one turn wonder build.

Only question is if Thoth finishes it first.

Turn 166

The main event of this turn was confirming that Thoth has not completed UoS, and finishing Paper:

If I was describing this picture in one word it would "ouch".

In a more readable form:

Thoth: Down Drama, Music, Code of Laws, Civil Service, Machinery. Up Feudalism (discount Monotheism, Theology due to SP).

Commodore: Down Aesthetics, Literature, Drama, Music, Code of Laws, Civil Service, Machinery, Alphabet, Calendar. Up Feudalism (discount Monotheism, Theology due to SP).

Pindicator: Down Aesthetics, Literature, Drama, Music, Priesthood, Calendar, Civil Service, Paper Horseback Riding!. Up Nothing (discount Monotheism).

Yuri: Down Aesthetics, Literature, Drama, Music, Meditation, Code of Laws, Civil Service, Paper, Alphabet, Currency, Machinery. Up: Nothing.

Bing: Down Literature, Drama, Music, Meditation, Code of Laws, Civil Service, Paper, Alphabet, Currency, Metal Casting, Machinery, HBR!, Construction!!. Up: Nothing (discount Monotheism).

If I land UoS next turn I wouldn't have a problem with this game being called in a mercy rule style ending. I'm happy to play on, I'm enjoying the distraction the game provides, but it feels like all life has been squeezed out of this one. I kind of hope that Thoth gets UoS next turn to give this a bit more life, but...I feel like that is doubtful.

Turn left Commodore at 1409 my time, and got back to him at 1554, less than two hours to do a full round.

I got Sankore. I need to prepare for everyone to dog pile me right now, and the others need to decide if they want to play on or we should euthanise the game. I'm happy to play on, but I don't want to waste others time if they can use it for better things.
