Well, they have to make it wrap around a globe somehow .. right? Adding in the occasional pentagon should do the trick. Truncated rhombic triacontahedron. A soccer ball works too, but both (hopefully) fall under the "miniscule map size".

Generally, I am reserving judgement on the game as a whole, there is very little information, however....

This change is could be problematic.

So there's this in addition to the new Mario and the new Metroid?
Not sure if I'm going to be buying it soon though. There are other games I want to play.
Civilization IV sure runs like a dream on my new computer.

Civ only has cylindrical maps, right? So no need for pentagons, (except the world wonder of course). But, if they went for hexagons (and pentagons) to make a globe, that would open a whole new dimension in gameplay (literally!). Since monitors remain 2D, it would require a lot of spacial awareness (or whatever the english term is). Pretty unfair to women, if you ask me

Good news.
#1 is that Civilization V comes around soon.
#2 is that realmsbeyond as a whole takes the news calm and waits for real information. Had to say that after checking out the massive outburst of posts and threads on civfanatics and 2kgames.
