Some mildly bad news this turn.
1) Sian's giving Mackoti OB for 2gpt.

2) Mackoti's got our iron in the jungle. That feels bad, but it's not actually bad - we aren't getting any of that jungle anyway. Good news is that iron is very exposed. If Iron is only available in the jungle areas, I think that's the first map aspect I feel dubious about. It's really easy for someone to get stuck without Iron through no fault of their own, just because both their neighbors settle towards them in the jungle. This could even happen to the third-fastest player to settle jungle who's only behind their two neighbors by turn order. And Iron's really, really important.

3) Luddicator galley come to bother us. Means we'll have to waste more resources guarding things.

OK, good news: we met Fierce, finally. He is on four cities. Ouch. We're not going to bother getting his graphs at this time. I offered OB, even though I'm not sure we'd get trade routes.

Demos. Mackoti turned research up if you can't tell. Rival best power increase is Luddicator. Probably just built two axes as once.

So what's the tech path again? Code of Laws is an easy 2-turn tech, hopefully claiming Confucianism. What comes next?
And on the sixth day, god created Manchester.

We'll save gold t70 as well, then complete CoL on eot71, Alpha eot72, and on t73 we bulb Philosophy, fire a golden age, adopt Pacifism and Caste System, and research Iron working (should be a 1-turn tech).
Then Metal Casting, Calendar, Compass, Optics, Machinery, Astronomy. If our GPP generation works out reasonably well, we'll have that researched/bulbed by the end of our golden age.
I have to run.

Not for me, alas. I like to have at least passing knowledge of the theme I'm using. (Great picture, I opened our thread and thought for a second I had taken a wrong turn.)
Thanks for the praise though, even if I can't subscribe to Spaceman's tiers.

This is of course bad in three ways. Mackoti getting extra trade routes, us not benefitting, and Mackoti has currency. I guess that means we're up some religious techs on him, and he's up Metal Casting (bulbed) and Iron Working on us. We'll know the details when we get Alphabet eot72 (we're only researching it to clear the path for our great scientist to bulb Philosophy).

Observatories FTW!
Dogpile protection, offshore colonization, opportunistic strikes.
It should be noted though that if the rng doesn't cooperate we could still end up on a Theology->Civil Service->Paper->Education track.

90% of attack paths on this map are over water. Additionally, there's more colonizing to be done overseas. We wouldn't slow-tech it with such high priority, but as a bulb target it's very efficient, and protects our lead well.
