I think it would get old pretty quickly if I updated an entire game in that style Still, might consider it.
I think we might be setting a record for largest battle in RB history. By the time we reach Beijing, there are probably going to be around 350 units on the field I can't think of a PB or PBEM that featured comprable army sizes off the top of my head.
Anyway, regarding civstats.
So, on the plus side, Team #1 IS actually doing something, big plus right there. While their collective power is rather sad compared to ours, with infantry and cavalry, they have a lot of potential against Lewwyn's muskets and catapults. On the negative side, they didn't take Milkshake - meaning one of two things:
1. They are beelining towards Milkshake, but got a nice opportunity to raze a city along the way and took it.
2. They are not targeting Milkshake and are working their way through Lewwyn's border cities to pick up more territory.
I have a sinking feeling it's the latter, given the general apathy towards stopping the culture victory we've seen from Team #1 to date (as evidenced by the power graph), but you never know
Alternatively, there may be no offensive in the works, and Speaker just got a chance to snipe a border city
So, with Milkshake still in Team #2's hands, the pressure is still on us to pull this thing off. God bless Team #1 though, they're sure trying

According to civ stats, that's only a decrease of 9 points from their point total after they last ended turn. What is it, roughly one pop equals one point and then the land loss will get factored into score at the end of turn?

Damn, Team #1 beat us to Physics
We were only 250 beakers short of having it last turn at that. I could have run scientists and research to make sure we got it.

I the event we do another team-based pitboss, I'm going to propose a bid point system for turn order.
With the benefit of hindsight, we really should have contested Team #1 for the number #1 slot in the turn order. For starters, it meant any attempt for the Music GA was hopeless. Now, we've lost a Great Scientist

Or you could just randomise it...like all the PBEMs do.
Current games (All): RtR: PB83
Ended games (Selection): BTS games: PB1, PB3, PBEM2, PBEM4, PBEM5B, PBEM50. RB mod games: PB5, PB15, PB27, PB37, PB42, PB46, PB71 PB80. FFH games: PBEMVII, PBEMXII. Civ 6: PBEM22 PBEM23Games ded lurked: PB18

Random would have been better than "first come" for music artist purposes. However, this far into the game I'm sure the decisions made by each team far outweighs starting turn order.
Still, sorry Davy, that sucks.

That could also work. On the other hand, in turn-based games (Chess comes to mind), whoever goes first is going to have an advantage, however slight. I know turn order is generally not a big deal in Civ. However, for a medieval start - due to the music GA - it makes a huge difference. For future medieval-start games on RB, I'd probably recommend bidding for turn order, with a gold compensation for going later in the turn order, or something to that effect. Alternatively, we could make disbanding the Great Artist compulsory. At any rate, I thought the idea merited being brought up.

To be clear, I'm not blaming the turn order for us losing the GS. Frustrating as it is, turn order had little to do with us losing this one.
I'm mostly frustrated with myself at the moment. Before ending the last turn, I thought long and hard about slashing my production for t184 to make sure we got the GS. I made the decision not to, and that cost us the Great Person and allowed Team #1 to get it instead This also means I underestimated Team #1's research rate, as I had them pegged at finishing Physics on t186.

Team #2 has researched Military Tradition. Hopefully they won't be able to get many cuirassiers together before we reach Beijing.
