-Bans set, or up to me? Given what I have in mind right now, I'm think either no/light bans, or else it'll be a fairly extensive list.

I think bans are up to you, but a few vets have expressed a desire to ban Dutch / Vikings. I don't mind if we choose to ban those civs, there are tons of others to pick from.

By the way, I'm still out of town until Monday, so I don't really have much time to think about this. I definitely can't do anything resembling picking until next week at the least. Anyways I think snake pick is probably better than going through each twice in a 5 player game probably. DIdn't see any problems with the ruleset but I haven't looked closely yet.

Not that it's any of my business (still), but double reverse snake pick sounds very fair and simple. I also like the pairing for lurking and comparison purposes, don't think it'd cause big problems.

Just want to point out that an AI diplo game with islands but everyone starting on the same continent, is the game setting with the greatest effect of player order on trade routes. If it were me playing, I'd be advocating like crazy for a 2x last-to-first pick order (and I'd still want to be first in turn order).
