Yeah, that was kind of awesome. And no, I didn't intentionally put Mali in between Quechae and War Chariots, but man did that die roll screw 'em. More.

Well, that was Shoot's idea really.
Glad they figured out that they need the worker to be in the city. I immediately thought of the failed shield attempt from the duel when I saw the first proposal of putting a blocking unit in place and chuckled when I saw Commodore post the same thing.

Gaspar's threads always bum me out. Surely two Quechas poking around in his land does not mean game over right...?

To be fair I don't think 5th pick is that great when you have picking restricitons, though I think 4th pick is worst with no picking restrictions, in a 5 player game. But those opponents aren't exactly the most forgiving either. I'd be pretty bummed in his situation.

there's that... there's also that he advertised wanting a game where everyone was pretty equal to his skill level, then ended up with 3 of the top 5 players on rb + a not far behind them Serdoa as his four opponents.

Yeah I get that, I probably would be too. He really just tried to get a game at the wrong time. I think both 45v and 48 are more like the games he would have played in, but he's in this thing instead. I just imagine - if he's this bummed after a Quecha pokes its head in the borders, I can only imagine what it'll be when something real does inevitably go wrong.

Is this game in fact going to last longer than 50 turns?

well 43 didn't, with pretty much the same crew with nicholae instead of Gaspar. Mackoti wasn't in that game, though, and I think him and Serdoa are both less likely to want to call the game even if they aren't winning, so maybe so.
I hope so, its the only game I'm global lurking at the moment and it looks like it will be pretty interesting in 30-40 turns.

43 went pop because Mackoti's sub (his cousin, who actually played from game start) vanished without trace & no-one could be found that was willing to step in. Nicolae had already had to drop out and get a sub, so I suspect that was the one unspoiled player available
