I don't think there's any way to save Lucky Luke. Upgrading a warrior would be a waste, I think. Well, at least we'd have to get very lucky, say, having the axe kill his axe and two spears on defense. I guess we should set up a sim from his point of view to see what his chances would be. Will our warriors or our WC's defend against his spears? If the warriors defend first, maybe we have a chance.

Attacking his stack is out.

If I had left the combat workers in place, we could have tried to abandon LL but raze his city with our wc's, using 3wc's to punch through the spear guarding the fast workers, and using the 4th wc to raze the city.

But yeah, upgrade the warrior, turtle, and hope to get very lucky, or just abandon it now, I think. If we want payback, maybe send a WC stack to his silks tile while his army is elsewhere and see if we can fork some cities. He might keep LL, not much we can do about that though.

We'll settle on top of it this turn, so we can upgrade this turn.

I set up a sim from Mackoti's point of view, and I'm glad I did.

This is pretty cool. Our fully fortified warrior defends before the WC's when the spears attack. Unfortunately the other warriors do not. But listen to this: The WC's defend against the axe. If we upgrade our fortified warrior to an axe, it defends instead, which is no good, since Mackoti will just damage our axe using his axe and then slaughter our WC's with his spears. But, if we upgrade an unfortified warrior, the WC's will still defend against the axe (he'll have 50% odds), but the unfortified axe defends against the spears. That's brilliant, it means he can't punch through that axe cheaply, as far as I can tell. His spears will have to get through our axe and our fully fortified warrior before they can start targetting WCs.

So in other words - upgrade the unfortified warrior to an axe, and that could buy us some time. I guess this means we should move the workers back to 1SW of LL too, since there might be an opportunity for counterattack next turn.

Huh. That's cool...how goes the game determine that? It's 5v5 for a 50% shot either way, right?
If only you and me and dead people know hex, then only deaf people know hex.

I write RPG adventures, and blog about it, check it out.

Yeah, it's 50/50 for both, so I don't know. Let's hope it's not some internal unit ID or something that's the tiebreaker, and that the tie breaks the other way in-game.

That's absolutely brilliant. Let's just keep trading off saving Lucky Luke, right (knock on wood it works)?

Not quite sure what your last sentence means, but yeah, let's hope it works.

- Do you have any particular suggestions for worker actions this turn?
- Should we move the warrior and wc near Cupid towards LL both, or should one of them stay in Cupid to avoid unhappy there?
- I'm whipping the monastery in RH
- WC or Granary in Legolas?
- I'm thinking of whipping an axe from scratch in WT. The lost pop point doesn't matter much, really, right now it's the unhappy that stings when whipping.

We have contact with Gaspar now courtesy of settling Odysseus on the copper. I put all our EPs on him.

Or we could whip an axe from scratch here too. With a chop next turn that gives us one axe at the end of this turn and one at the end of next.
