From a technical standpoint I don't think not having the password is a problem. Can't the host kick to AI and have someone else claim the civ? No comment on the game situation because I'm not really following this game.

Yeah, it's not impossible, it just takes a bit of time and technical know how on the part of the host and a another person or two.
Also, JoJo's post is a good example of why I'm pissed. You can argue over cause and effect from timing, but I prefer to think of it as foresight.

Jojo doesn't understand the full situation and I don't think we call games because a random player who has no shot at winning and didn't ever have a shot at winning might die now.
My guess is the players will decide to make nice and Parkin will continue on but leopard:spots; parkin:skirting the rules. I would certainly never sign up for a game against someone I know has at best an ambivalent attitude towards the rules and a worst is an outright scumbag and it irritates me to no end that we constantly make excuses for it. Isn't to steadfastly avoid cheating the very first point of the RB ethos? That doesn't mean, don't cheat - it means take all steps to avoid possibly cheating. I mean Jojo has his own misguided self-interest involved here but I suspect others will feel the same way.
(In fairness I know nothing about what's going on in this game because I haven't been lurking but I know what just happened and I know who we're talking about. Its not like he just has one instance of this in his past.)
I've got some dirt on my shoulder, can you brush it off for me?

When LP and Seven have a smug-off, everyone loses.

Y'know, usually I feel this way but I found this particular one strangely entertaining.

I don't think this terribly interesting. LP at the very least has plausible denialability (I used that to remind myself!) or may be even be telling the truth. People were able to bully him into making him quit anyway but that's not a problem. If LP is telling the truth here he's still mostly at fault for people's hostile reaction to the situation. If you bend the rules you have to deal with the consequences like being disliked and being looked at through the worst possible lens. If you cannot deal with it like me don't piss people off looking for every possible edge.
Edit: I've read the thread a bit more and think LP would have quit anyway due to RL issues. So maybe he is able to handle the heat. It makes this smug-off much less important. Oh great, LP doesn't get to play five or so turns...

The focus on proving that Krill is wrong, instead of on trying to make sure that the other players are satisfied and that the game is running fairly, is unbecoming. I feel like I have to say something here. Can you please not talk down to an another player, especially one that's been cornered like a rat, like they're a fucking 4-year old child? Aggression and drama, yada yada yada, par for course, thats one thing, but this was completely disgusting. It made my skin crawl to read this post.
Parkin - GG, sorry it had to end like this.
 LEAVE BRITNEY PARKIN ALONE!
Heh. Although Seven is also a condescending ass, so this is just delicious all around.
Now here, we have:

Sadly, though, in the end...

I'm pretty annoyed at Parkin myself. But I'm only a little annoyed at him because he's slow to play his turns. I mean I play in PB17, I'm used to slow turn paces.
What really does annoy me is Parkin, for the last 30 turns, always insist on ending turn after everybody has played. In fact, he used to logs in the minute someone has ended turn then roll the new turn. After rolling the new turn, he obviously plays part of his turn, then doesn't end turn. I'm pretty sure consistently playing both before and after your opponents is frowned upon. Oh when did his "RL stuff" started happening? Immediately after Seven declared war on him of course. Since then Parkin still insist on playing after everyone except Seven due to a forced turn split. I've been on the internet for long enough I can smell a troll from a mile away.
Alright /end rant. ...redemption chances are all well and good, and Seven, Mackoti, etc all willingly signed up with Lord Parkin with both eyes open. I feel pretty awful for the innocent newbies who just wanted to play some of this fun RB civ they keep reading about. Not their fault they haven't read PB7 and PB4.

Any chance we can comment on the situation without resorting to name calling?
