Ah, I've been opening it through the "load mod" menu option.

How do I run the mod from outside the game in order to run as admin?  I don't see an executable file, though maybe I missed it.
Merovech's Mapmaking Guidelines:
0. Player Requests: The player's requests take precedence, even if they contradict the following guidelines.

1. Balance: The map must be balanced, both in regards to land quality and availability and in regards to special civilization features. A map may be wonderfully unique and surprising, but, if it is unbalanced, the game will suffer and the player's enjoyment will not be as high as it could be.

2. Identity and Enjoyment: The map should be interesting to play at all levels, from city placement and management to the border-created interactions between civilizations, and should include varied terrain. Flavor should enhance the inherent pleasure resulting from the underlying tile arrangements. The map should not be exceedingly lush, but it is better to err on the lush side than on the poor side when placing terrain.

3. Feel (Avoiding Gimmicks): The map should not be overwhelmed or dominated by the mapmaker's flavor. Embellishment of the map through the use of special improvements, barbarian units, and abnormal terrain can enhance the identity and enjoyment of the map, but should take a backseat to the more normal aspects of the map. The game should usually not revolve around the flavor, but merely be accented by it.

4. Realism: Where possible, the terrain of the map should be realistic. Jungles on desert tiles, or even next to desert tiles, should therefore have a very specific reason for existing. Rivers should run downhill or across level ground into bodies of water. Irrigated terrain should have a higher grassland to plains ratio than dry terrain. Mountain chains should cast rain shadows. Islands, mountains, and peninsulas should follow logical plate tectonics.

You just start the civ.exe as administrator.

Also what is the file structure of your mod. Normally the RtR mod folder should contain the assets folder, but I noticed sometimes after unzipping that it contains another RtR folder inside the first. That could cause problems.

After the first feedback from PB47 I started integrating more BUG stuff. So here's a new version for all of you:

RtR_BugBeta_0.5

By now it almost includes everything there is in BUG. These are the changes compared to the last version:
  • Removed Autolog
  • Removed UnitNaming
Both did not work properly in a pitboss game and in the case of Autolog had some additional bugs. It's also highly unlikely or a lot of work to get them working in a PB.

Tab General
  • Added Progress Bars (Great General and Great Person)
  • Added Leaderhead infos (only useful in SP)
  • Added Tick Marks
  • Added Fractional Movement Points
  • Added Stack Movement Points
Tab Map
  • Added Turns to Starvation
  • Added Tile Hover Partial Builds
Tab City Screen
  • Added Hurry Detail
  • Added Building Actual Effects
  • Added Production Queue
  • Added City Bar Hover
  • Added Commerce Subtotals
  • Added Detailed Food Info
  • Added Anger Counter
  • Added Tick Marks
Tab Advisor
  • Added Zoom to City Details
  • Added Better Espionage
Added Tab Scoreboard and all functions (this also includes a display of how many cities every player has, which was needed after I introduced "No City Trading" game option
Added Tab PLE and all functions

As always if you find that some options go to far for our community. Just let me know and I will remove them.

I noticed the other day that the Victory screen does NOT have the number of unmet civs. That is in BUG.
I have finally decided to put down some cash and register a website. It is www.ruffhi.com. Now I remain free to move the hosting options without having to change the name of the site.

Yes the BUG Victory screen is not included right now. It needs a deeper investigation from my side to see what I include there.

From memory, there wasn't much that we added to the victory screen. Unmet civs is one. Did we put a counter on the culture victory items ... maybe. I think that was it.

I found also an issue smile

The Bug-Log posts its output into PythonDdb.log, but is too verbose.
Currently, this Logfile is 128 MB big, most lines are just
"Done with handling".

At least the source of this output should be commented out.

You can control what goes to the log in one of the option pages.
