Did we ever arrive on a decision re: Mausoleum, and if it should be nerfed somehow? It felt as though we had a pretty good consensus that MoM was too powerful, and a lot of people liked the 'obsolete at Nationalism' nerf.
Edit: The reason I ask is because I'm not sure if we actually reached a consensus, or if that was just my own personal bias?

The Obsolete at Nationalism nerf is one of the reasons i liked RTR (along with buffing workshops to not be shitty)

I have the "Obsolete at nationalism" nerf in plan, but my initial thought was to collect more data. What I wanted to see is how many players built the mausoleum and then also won their game. For that I need to track down all the previous BtS games here on RB and see if the winner built mausoleum. This takes a bit of time, I hope I can finish this analysis before the next PB starts.

Charriu, I'm not sure if you're interested in bugs relating to the Civ4 governor, but I caught him prefering to work a 3/0/2 tile over a 4/0/2 tile.

Those are interesting, but I doubt I tackle them anytime soon. They are connected to the whole AI system and it is a big time investment to get into that part of the code.

I did not include a change for mausoleum mainly because I first wanted to collect more data to see how crucial this wonder was for the winning players.
I like the idea of swapping their effects. It prevents stacking their effects and reduces the power of the Wonder-GA by moving it earlier in the game.
The +50% boost from the Taj at Nationalism would then only affect the 2 and 3 man GAs excepting rare 4 man GAs.
Strikes me as an elegant solution with minimal changes.

I'm surprised they haven't been picked tbh. March is a very strong promotion to get on a knight replacement and Madrassas have always been very useful.

I finished my analysis of the past games to evaluate the MoM nerf. I went through all past BtS and CtH PBs and PBEMs and looked up who built MoM and how that game turned out for that person. Here are the numbers:
Games looked at = 95
MoM builder won game = 35
MoM builder was in a strong position, but didn't win = 20
MoM builder lost game = 18
MoM builder was eliminated = 8
MoM builder unknown = 13
MoM banned = 1
So as you can see and what most already expected. Those who built MoM also were in a very good position most of the time. I therefore will implement the "Obsolete at nationalism" nerf with the next version.

The effects 100% should not be switched. Think about it this way. Current version splits up golden age turns over future turns and you need 2 golden ages (admittedly not that hard). Giving it an 8 turn golden age gives those turns right away and sooner is usually better than later in Civ. I would be in favor of only 2 extra turns or take away Marble boost (which would buff Ind indirectly). Edit: or obsolete is fine as well.
I would love Arabia to have fishing instead of wheel, but there are a lot of issues with switching starting techs evidently so may not be worth it.

Be careful about which way the causation goes there. Does MoM make you successful enough to win the game, or do you manage to build MoM when you're already successful enough to win the game?
And switching those effects doesn't sound "close to home" to me. Tweak the length numbers if that's what the balance needs.

Very interisting statistic and how you show it, but practicaly what is saying won 35 and lost 59 .Now go and check about mids, or Taj Mahal and I think even Colosus might score very near or same(i dint check just from the feeling). I would change just requirements to build. Requires calendar and Machinery so if you wanna have a full GA with mom to wait alot, and make it without resources.
