Is that character a variant? (I just love getting asked that in channel.) - Charis

[SPOILERS] Pindicator emerges from the wilderness to play pb74

Okay, I've replayed my t51 exactly except i have not moved the warrior in question. If lurkers feel strongly about this then we can have a conversation. I plan on keeping a turn split with Bing next turn and moving after him; if I don't see the spear on my borders then I will move my warrior up.

After discussing with Mjmd and Hitru, the following PM was sent to Bing & Mjmd:

pindicator Wrote:Hello Bing!

There was a slight issue in the reload and I've been discussing with Mjmd how best to address it.  We've both agreed that I need to give you some information and explain what happened and why I'm moving differently than I did the first time I played t51.

When I first played turn 51, I played before you and moved a warrior up and spotted your spear on the desert hill between our lands:

When the turn was replayed I noticed you played before me, which left me with a bit of a puzzle.  If I were to move my warrior in the same way there was a possibility you had moved your spear northeast and so could kill it next turn, where in the original playing of the turn that would not have happened.  I don't need to know where you moved / if you moved that spear, or what your intentions are, but I think you'll agree that it wouldn't be right for you to have an opportunity to kill a warrior on the reload when you wouldn't have had that opportunity in the first time through.

Some solutions Mjmd and I have brainstormed:

1)  I play the turn as I originally did but do not move this warrior for this turn and leave it in place.
2)  I play the turn and move up the warrior, but get the first half of a turn split for t52 if we see the spear has moved to the northeast desert tile

At a minimum we realized you needed to be told about my warrior movement because you would have seen that warrior on the original playing of the turn, and now you did not when you played your t51.

I hope one of those two options are agreeable for you.  Let us know your thoughts if they are not.  Mjmd is being copied on this in case there is something you need to bring up with him that you do not want to share with me.

Thanks!

I haven't heard anything back from Bing, so I'm either going to wait for him to respond or play his turn before i play mine.

No spear from Bing, so I'm going to say we're back on normal footing there.

Commodore, however, is starting to spike in power:

Best case this is him reacting to Tarkeel's power and not wanting to be the next conquest on his list. Worst case we need to start worrying about how to handle a small stack of dogs & spears.

Our settler is set to either move onto the hill by the cow - or worst case to settle on top of the copper. Next turn the warrior moves onto the hill and hopefully sees nothing:

That goes for both warriors, actually.

The turn started off nicely enough:

But then when we got into the meat of things, there was a spanner in the works; a fly in the ointment; a barb in the hill:

That's the hill we wanted our warrior & settler to move to this turn. So next city gets delayed, and instead the warrior goes around to the south. Our chariot will clean up the warrior when it moves to flat ground next turn, and the warrior will press on to the center of the map to keep an eye on things from there.

Meanwhile, I almost messed up the worker turns, but I still have a way of getting a road on the copper next turn.
