Events - Vote no events.
Pick Method - Vote snakepick if simultaneous.
But Scooter, what do you mean by "draft"? Pick order of 5432154321, with 5 being the player 5th in turn order? Like in PB77? That seems like a good idea if we play sequential.
Sequential or Simultaneous - No strong preference. I can do either. If we do sequential, my best consistent window is 4AM to 7 AM GMT.
Participat ed in: Pitboss 40 (lurked by Mr. Cairo), Pitboss 45 (lurked by Charriu and chumchu), Pitboss 63 (replaced Mr. Cairo), Pitboss 66, Pitboss 69, Pitboss 74, Pitboss 78 (lurked by GT), Pitboss 79 (lurking Giraflorens), Pitboss 81 (lurking giraflorens),
Participat ing in: Pitboss 83 (lurking Krill),
Criticism welcome!

Also, Scooter, you should decide the city-trading rule for us. That rule has not been defined yet and it seems like something better done by someone with the wacky map knowledge that you have and we don't.

Yeah if you go with a draft, which appears to be the lean, I would suggest snake pick if simultaneous and 5432154321 if sequential.

1 max per peace deal is probably the safest and generally inoffensive rule, so we'll go with that.

Let me try to recap the preferences I've seen here. Superdeath hasn't chimed in, but we have the other 4, so we can narrow things down a bit.
Events: Thrawn and MS prefer OFF, Dreylin and Gav have no preference. Superdeath stated up-thread he is "99% against Events," so I think we're safe to call this OFF.
Pick Method: Gav, Thrawn, and Magic Science all prefer a draft/snake pick. Dreylin's got a light preference towards something random-ish, but it looks like a snake pick is the leader here.
Simultaneous/Sequential: Dreylin, Gav, and especially Thrawn all prefer Simultaneous, and nobody has spoken up as pro-Sequential yet. So unless Superdeath feels incredibly strongly, it looks like Simultaneous has it.
I'll also create a subforum and get this thread moved over next.

Just FWIW, the reason this isn't the same thing is that all end-of-turn events (production, tech, etc) occur immediately upon pressing enter in Sequential, which is not the case in Simultaneous. So you don't have a case where one player whips a units, but those units are unavailable to defend on their opponent's turns, for example.
This does make me think though that one way of "fixing" Simultaneous a bit more is an underlying turn split priority. But that's maybe a conversation for another day.

This looks really fun, I'm a bit sad I missed out on the signups. I'd be up for dedlurking someone.

I forgot to mention - starting screenshots are still on track to be ready by the weekend. Very slight chance of tomorrow if my start reviewer is especially happy with the latest version.

If you can by some miracle find 4 more people who want to play this prior to this game fully launching, there's no reason there couldn't be two games running simultaneously on the same map. We've done it before actually. That seems pretty unlikely though.

I prefer simul. Lets stuff move better. No one that has signed up (i think) is someone that plays clock games, so everything should be kosher.
Snake pick is my preferred method.
"Superdeath seems to have acquired a rep for aggression somehow. ![[Image: noidea.gif]](https://www.realmsbeyond.net/forums/images/smilies/noidea.gif) In this game that's going to help us because he's going to go to the negotiating table with twitchy eyes and slightly too wide a grin and terrify the neighbors into favorable border agreements, one-sided tech deals and staggered NAPs."

To be clear, if any game option is a dealbreaker for someone, please, speak out. None of my preferences is strong.
Also, did we discuss city trading? I think I'd prefer a flexible "don't be a dick rule", I found one city per peace deal to be really limiting.

Feel free to change this with discussion. MS asked me to just pick something, but I have no actual preference nor do I see a special game reason to lock a rule here.
