He's working two unimproved tiles in his size 3 capital and has zero cottages laid down from what I can tell. I'm guessing that won't be much of a problem, though. With an immediate swap to representation I imagine he'll start cottaging soon and grow the capital onto them. He'll have to balance expansion while he grows these early cities and grab his share of the land. But Azza's problems usually don't begin until his borders get close to his neighbors. Perhaps he'll resist the urge to plant in someone's face this time around.

Noble's point is that building the Mids with lighting speed this early should mean that he's appreciably behind his opponents in expansion. They're worth what, 2.5 settlers with access to stone?

Azza probably wants to revolt to Police State so that when he does fling his next city in someone's face he'll have a chance at holding it for once. smile

I'm guessing Azza is going to farm everything to run specs which is not the way to go, he should at least cottage his capital.

Yuri, ouch....

Triple stack, no guard, Zulu neighbor -- you have to assume Jowy would have impis and be prepared for an opportunistic strike. Never mind that he did the deed with a chariot, unprepared is unprepared. That's quite a setback.

I think yuris pretty much has to attack the chariot with the axe and delete the workers. Based on Jowy's deeper scouting pre war-dec, it appears reinforcements are absent. So, the city is toast either way. Best to not compound the catastrophe by letting Zulu have 180h free in workers.

alright

Huh, is Jowy really not going to follow this attack up with a greater force or a settler to take advantage of the cleared land? I know Nic got a lot of value out of minimal-investment raids to kneecap his neighbors, but I think he backed them up enough force in reserve that he could safely translate his opportunism into domestic gains. I'm not sure Jowy has much of follow-up planned here. Not necessarily a bad play though, if he has enough sense to get his units back home and prepare for a counter-attack. 30 hammers is a pretty good deal for crippling a neighbor who was doing really well and inevitably going to eat him if he did nothing.

Nic plays to win. Jowy plays to troll. Embrace this dichotomy of truth and all becomes clear.
