Broke 200 base bpt this turn, finished Sailing 2 turns ago, Calendar last turn, and just got CoL in 1 turn using minimal overflow  Wasn't planning on that last tech, but I'll take what I can get. I'm currently using this method of teching to hide my research from those that have espionage points accrued against me, enough to see my research. It works because I don't have to select a tech until my turn, and when I end turn, the tech is researched and I need to pick a new one.
My next tech is likely to be IW. 174 beakers base. I'm currently making about 125 base beakers at break even, which is about 150 adjusted for the 20% tech bonus. I'd need at least another 2 civs to know IW for me to get it in 1 turn, at a guess, from the known civ modifier.
Oh, new city for the clams, cow and wines, and now at 61 pop total, and a size 13 capital  Without Bureaucracy OR an Academy. All other cities have nothing more than a free monument and granary, other than 1 barracks (slaved this turn, t85), and 1 Lib (Against Sunrise in city 3 for the culture war and future GS that I'll figure out how to use later).
61 pop...IIRC, I was supposed to be at 40 pop...13 turns ago, with the HG. Obviously it would have been nice to get that wonder, but turns out it wasn't a necessity for me for myself...but maybe it'll turn out I needed it for denial? EDIT: Holy shit, 33 to 61 pop in 12 turns? Not including slaves? Really? That doesn't seem right.
Oh, and I finish the GW next turn for another 2 culture points in the gold city next to sunrise. A Gspy is good for a GA, and won't pop for quite a while (4th, maybe 5th GP). I could definitely use the GG points, and it is the only remaining culture building I have in that city (before I spread religion this turn)...and I need it to reclaim the one tile in it's outer ring to stop the simple 1 move of the city. The tile in question is currently at 61% Incan control, I want it back in 15 turns, before knights arrive.
Anyway. Having fun atm...just trying to get out the units I think I should have, and maximising pop growth. 8 cities grew last turn, 4 the turn before that, and 3 next turn...

Researched IW in 1 turn, 133 base beakers, so minimum, what, 1 player knows IW? Turns out I have 1 iron within my borders, will be hooked in 3 turns because it landed next to 4 workers. The foodless city site I was considering turns out to be founded on iron, and the remaining spot SE of my capital for the stone/deer/grasslands will be right next to an iron as well, so I'm fine for that.
Also, got GW this turn, will get a monastery in 2 turns and I think the border pops in 4 turns, so I figure I'll get that tile back from sunrise within 10 turns.
Cyneheard but a second G2 LB on the grass hill, which is fine by me. It just means that one of hte G2 LBs will get damaged by the collateral. I always figure that putting 2 G2 LB on one hill is a bad move, because it means you can use collateral to damage the second LB, and the cats themselves are not going to make much of a dent in the first LB, so as the attacker you are more likely to lose hammers taking out he first LB and not the second. Probably wiser to put a D2 LB on the hill, if anything? Or set up an ambush with fast movers so you can take out all of the units that have been used to regian control of the hill in the first place, using the G2 LB as bait.
Going to start saving gold from next turn, at around 115 gpt. Saving for 4 turns would probably give me enough gold to get to the end of Machinery...or to Music with 4 turns worth of teching without my tech being discoverable, and that GA hasn't fallen yet...hmmm

Ugh, horrible few days at work. Over now though, only to find out yesterday my desktop is fucked. Anyway...
Researched Aesthetics in 1 turn, -77gpt (221 saved, 241 base bpt for a 261 beaker tech), overflowed enough to get MC in 1 (was ending up about 40 beakers short, and even with another 10% beaker increase coming next turn at a push, couldn't get it in 1 without building research and I don't have Alphabet...) and I am considering building the Swedagon Paya in one of my cities next to sunrise, after he shoved the ToA into his front city. Not sure if it is needed, as my front city has its' border expand again next turn, so I should be getting another 20 culture into the important tile (total of 36...) but I still like the idea of the security it would give to my front line. SP would take 15 turns...9 with chops.
Darrell has jumped up to second in score, and is second behind me in pop and land. sunrise probably isn't happy about that.
New city next turn, and I really need to dedicae a few workers to building a road to that crab city to finish setling the good city sites. Oh well.
However, here is an interesting point for you. t81 I research Fued, after 4 turns teching. By t93 (12 turns), I will have teched: Sailing, Calendar, CoL, IW, Aesthetics, MC and Machinery. 2130 beakers. Average adjusted bpt rate of 177.5 bpt breakeven without academy or Bureaucracy (don't bother comparing to PB2, AW makes the games incomparable from a beaker standing due to different needs).
It will take me 12 turns just to build the army I require to shift Cyneheards units off my hill. So is it even worth it?

Slight change of plan. Drama teched in 1 turn from scratch at 80%, -31 gpt. 160ish in the bank. I could have Lib by around t110 at current research rates...but no machinery. Lib for PP by t115. t110 for everything is not unreasonable. And Education teched by t100, GP by t106 by that route, only 2 turns behind guilds but with a bulb from a GS.
Need to decide quickly...

still saving gold, screen shots next turn if I can. I now have enough for about 4.5 turns max research, enough to get all the way through to the end of Paper. GS is due in 9 now, but another GS just fell to someone so I'm a little hesitant to continue, partly because I was banking on using the discovery of Toaism to judge my chances...and I think that tech will fall next turn.
