Yeah, crazy. I'm pretty doubtful that the chariot rush was the correct move but Pin certainly played better than Nyles there, you have to feel for him.

So pin hasn't actually done much at all there. He has lost 30hams for a few gold on the cows pillage. I think overall it is about an even trade when the worker turns and lost prod is considered.

Pindicator was legitimately unlucky here. 75% odds are certainly good enough to take them, especially when the payoff is so large. However, he could have made those odds 100% by adding one more chariot, and it looks like it would have been pretty easy to do so. From his thread on August 10th:
pindicator Wrote:EDIT: I guess I changed my mind to go for it because I'm doing a bit of a half measure - I'm still able to have Andrad chop a worker out and then use those workers to get the city up and running. Going to have to put Gont and Karego on units whether the quick strike succeeds or fails, though.
And this screenshot a few days later:
That chop at Andrad could very easily be another chariot completing. And look, I don't want to kick someone when they're down. This is always so much easier with the benefit of hindsight. Chopping out a chariot instead of a worker would have slowed down the development of that new city by a lot. I completely understand the logic behind what pindicator was doing here. However, I also feel compelled to point out that this wasn't just a bad dice roll; it was a strategic choice to semi-commit to a chariot attack while also semi-committing to internal development. He could have chosen to slow down his new city in exchange for a stronger chariot force. I don't know if that was the right option, even with how this played out, but it was a possibility.

If that corn was worked for 20-30 turns that's a 5 food tile...that's basically another chariot itself, compared to any other tile, regardless of chops.
That's the mistake. Not the chop directions.

DTG & Pickle got harassed so much by that Impi, and yet they're still settling on flatland? Talk about ballsy!

Not like there are any hills they could settle on without forward planting in jungle against Impi.

Prefer current placement then a "front" city on the southern jungle hill.
