Also borders pop when next turn ends, and the warrior can go and scout out a little bit more. warrior is probably best to go south, and then move clockwise through the fog to give more information on where to plant the second city.

Well fuck, no copper at the capital. In fact we a bit screwed on it's location compared to dtay's copper.

So yeah, need to think quite hard about second city locations, but I don't see any new food for that copper location which means there is no choice but to use that warrior to scout out food down there.

novice, I need to know which tech path you want. As I see it Fishing, Pottery or Hunting are all viable options. Fishing because might have to settle that copper for the clam and makes Pottery a bit cheaper, Pottery straight away is settling for the double corn location and plan to whip that really hard, or Hunting to look where horses are by going AH afterwards, and opening up Archery. Because of dtays copper location I think we have to play a lot safer now, and can't even settle much towards him unless we really do go for Archery right away.

I've left research on Fishing for now, but I will change it if you want me to.

I revolted anyway, into Slavery. Means can delay the tech choice for a bit longer.

Scout copper with warrior, and probably tech... Pottery? Fishing is ok too. I don't think we need archery asap, dtay won't rush us if we don't settle up on him.

I think we grab some good spots that are obviously ours, then expand through our non-dtay neighbour with HAs.

I think put 1 turn into Fishing and then reassess after the borders pop and give a bit more map knowledge. There is the possibility that we uncover some interesting tiles. I agree with your old assessment of a city on the plains hill being a good border city with dtay, but I think it might be risky as a second city location. I don't particularly like it as a third city though, workers would be totally out of position. Actually, I think that Hunting might be the better tech to spend a turn on? Or just save gold for a turn...

I do not think that we are likely to do much HA combat in this game, we are against Whosit with the Vikings and Cheater Hater with the Zulu. I feel that we likely have to rush through to Maths and get Calendar for the +3 happy we can already see, need IW as well for the sugar but that can wait until afterwards, and also to get Construction. We have ivory, so we could also get WE out to defend with. We have a bit of happy from the ivory but I think we really will need one more early happy res to justify anything other than a Calendar beeline.
