Newbs, asking questions like that and no bribes to back it up!
Reagrding the map; I got some more feedback from the lurkers, so intend to post a revised map tonight and give it another day for comments.
One of the points brought up has been the size of the map, if you haven't done so already I recommend you roll yourself a huge Big and Small map to ensure this is the type of game you want to play.

Thanks for the work on this TBS, but don't kill yourself over something you got asked to do. If people complain now, you can refer them to the script; otherwise you might have to accept the reams and reams of complaints! I mean, I do appreciate additional touch-up, and feel free, but you didn't sign on to break your back.

Would a permanent golden age tickle your fancy? ![[Image: GoldenAge.gif]](https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/44346970/RB/Misc/GoldenAge.gif) That should be worth a grassland gems tile, I would think.

Thanks for your work on the map. One thing I've learned is that no matter what you do to try and balance the map players will find fault with it anyway. Unless the map is made from a mirrored script there will be incongruities and differentiation in resource allocation and land quality. You've done your job if you've mitigated the difference in land quality down to the point that the map does not determine who the winner is. If it's possible to win from every starting point on the map (and possible to do so without assuming that it's Mackoti starting at each point, but rather an average player) then that is sufficient.
Any effort you expend above that requirement is a bonus to the players and ought to be appreciated (though it probably won't be as they register their complaints during the game about the unfairness of a random map). If the lurkers are finding flaws in the map that's good, refine until they're reasonably satisfied with the results. It will (hopefully) lead to less player outcry later. I don't see a need to be in a hurry to start the game, I'd rather play on a better map than start right away. But I'm not really playing so my opinion isn't particularly relevant. In any case, thanks for your effort and good luck weathering the inevitable player map criticism storm.

Hey TBS, did you need anything further from us? Might want to PM Caledorn as a heads up, I doubt he follows this thread.

We have a slight technical problem that novice needs to address before we can proceed. The Pitboss created a savegame that was a meagre 31 GB, which would have been interesting to transfer to people. We'll keep you posted, but the game probably wont be up until tomorrow at the earliest.

I am going to bed very soon, so if there is something wrong with the game (like map needs to be updated with techs, etc - basically anything that requires me to reload) it'll have to wait until tomorrow. I set the initial turn at 72 hours, but already modified the timer so that the next turn is at 24 hours.
