More importantly, a *HUGE* shout out to Ravus. This map is so fantastic. So many little touches that really show the work and care put in. Massive thumbs up from me (and i'm willing to bet Bob as well!).
For those who don't know why i say this:

Oh, on Nicolae, he only has one city so that is his capital. His demo's are incredibly bad so i'd say we have a decent chance of success if we attack.
Gibbon:
I can't see why death 3 and twincast shouldn't be our first priorities. This enables us to:
a) summon a strong tier 3 unit.
b) have super powerful spectre summoning mages later on. We have a lot of mana nodes. With puppets, each mage could sustain 1 skeleton and 3 super charged spectre's himself... 2 mages would make an awesome defence force.
We can then use the various mana loans to get us some useful adepts out and about springing everything etc.

I'd completly forgotten about that little touch :neenernee
I liked making this map, but it is so horribly rushed. I'm convinced i'm remembering that someone told me that the average time on creation was 3 days so i tried to do it in 2 to keep the interest going. Silly me.
You are certainly Mr Explorer with your lizardmen and griffins!

Oh, screw standard procedure. And Water3 is better than Death3, IMO, equal units once we build the ToE...but when the water elemental loses, it splits in two...and they'll split again afterwards. Definitely better summons. And Death strength can be countered. OTOH, we aren't far from air elementals either, but that'd be something to gain after getting to twincast.
Also, Vitalize would just be awesome, it only needs 2 promotions under most circumstances for us, but I think we can get it down to a single promo, and on top of that...it gives Gibbon something to do while leveling up. We have a shit load of desert, literally, about two thirds of our land, if not more, is desert or plains. We are owed one source of nature mana already, the second is with a decent ally.

Oh noes, my secret has been unleashed onto the forum
Also...can we build the shrine of the champion, and then resurrect Loki for the hell of it?

Chatted briefly to Nicolae, he's gonna make me his best offer before our next turn. We can go from there. I moved in for now.

I vote for something other than lots of death mana as that seems to be a common theme through these games, seeing tier 3 water (or air or whatever) would be a nice change

Agreed. Death is likely most powerful but that's not what this thread was about. We'd have chosen Vampires if it was.
However, as for which summon we want, that's kinda up in the air. I'll let Krill kick us off whilst i do a turn report.

I think we just found Acheron:
Too early for a naturally spawned barb city. However, let's not totally assume just yet. This map is so crazy edited, that it could just be something else. Ravus, once again, i'm a little bit in love with this map.
Sheaim Situation:
Firstly, they live! Nicolae caught me in chat as i had the turn. I decided that i needed to know the strength of our bargaining position before agreeing to anything so i moved the griffon in one tile to take a peek at the capital. It was guarded by two warriors.
This means we could *not* have taken it, but we could have caused ludicrous harassment. As such, i began negotiations with intentionally harsh terms so i could let him 'wear me down'. My opening offer:
-Pyre Zombies may NEVER be used against the Balseraphs in any way unless we are the only two civs remaining.
-All land on the landbridge between us belongs to the Balseraphs including Yggdrasil and all food there.
-We get two seperate mana loans for at least ten turns each with ten turns notice.
-I give him info on where other players are.
-He must attack Gaspar.
This was Nicolae's first venture into diplomacy. I felt kind of mean, but i've slept since and now i feel just dandy.
We eventually settled on removing the first clause and replacing it with a generic 140turn NAP. He also will tell Gaspar that he has met one of my scouts. This *might* help me go thru with the 'griffon ate my scout' lie.
