I don't think this matters much since every team has similar starting positions.

IMO start #2 needs to be strengthened just a little bit.

You should post the starting screens and then let each team pick who goes where.

Good idea. This way all starts can keep their flavor and they can decide where philo goes.
edit. I decided to make start #2 a bit better also adding there plains cows/sheep depending on the nation.

Is it possible to upload the current map file to the thread here? I find it easier to analyse if I can poke around a bit in the game.

One thing to keep in mind with a Medieval start is that there is no disincentive to move your Settler on the first turn - because in all likelihood you will be in anarchy switching your civics anyway. Or at least you should be. Plus of course, there's the extra Settler that's guaranteed to settle a spot further afield near-instantly.
Bearing that in mind, it might be an idea to make sure the land any player could claim by shifting their Settlers isn't markedly better than settling in place. Otherwise, the few (if any) folks who don't realise that they can freely move on the first turn at no cost might be put at a significant disadvantage.

Yeah, I think encouraging everyone to settle in a similarly optimal way is best, it may be good to move #3's start 1W to guarantee that they'll notice a GPP supercapital.
Also, this may be a metagamey request, but could Team Spulla and Team Kuro start diagonal to one another? They're easily the furthest apart in skill, and it would suck if they got destroyed super early giving one team 40% of the map.

I won't put all units on same plot so they'll see most of the relevant resources right away.
Concerning Team Spulla and Team Kuro starts. There is no diagonal option since I've shifted nations in the south 21 tiles. Everyone has easy access to other nations.

Yeah. I'll try to get it ready enough this evening (~12h).
