I think our diplo should be incredibly confusing, with supposedly different clans within our team playing good cop, bad cop with the other teams ad nauseam.

I fear that would just aggravate rather than intimidate. No matter which style we choose, we do need effective diplomacy.

Catwalk, are you saying you disapprove of bad cop, worse cop? Boldly signed up for TEAM, we can run that again lol Maybe randomly signing the messages we send each time with a different TEAM member's name so they never know who they're talking to would be fun. That would give us the old "I'll have to check with the team" gambit to (ab)use.

I strongly approve of good kitty - bad kitty, but I disapprove the checking with team mate gambit. It's easy to see through in a game like this, and I think it would antagonize our opponents against us. Frankly, it didn't help relations between kitties and aliens in 29 wink Whereas the blunt diplomacy suggested above can actually earn their respect, and save them time trying to sweet talk us.

Stick with killing two at a time. That really pisses them off because it leaves the other 2 teams free to expand and win long term.

My general idea for diplo is this:

Make a mutually beneficial arrangement with OleDavy's team. They are the least threat.

Harass 7's team incessantly.

Diplomatically isolate or simply ignore Parkin.

Play Darrell/novice by ear.

I like signing with different names, then maybe they'll think im contributing!
Seriously (or as serious asa you can get here) if we do the name thing we should totally sign with Foreign Affairs Minister or something stupid, and then 'replace' the diplomat with each message.
