If only you and me and dead people know hex, then only deaf people know hex.
I write RPG adventures, and blog about it, check it out.
Your sim.

I only picked Maya randomly, feeding all leaders and civs as a single list into random.org (so the chance of picking a leader first was actually higher than picking a civ). Cathy was a conscious pick based on the first pick and what other picked by that point

Scouting. Quite interesting actually. I can send those early settlers to the east, which appears to be safe backline. Useless in terms of landgrabbing, but considering my early unit-building plans (or lack thereof), might not be a bad idea
More scouting and some early dotmapping thoughts
I confirmed that the eastern territory is safe backline. While expanding in that direction would be the safe option, it doesn't help langrabbing and it requires researching a tech I don't need early otherwise, Fishing. So I'm going to try and go to the west. The city 3W1S of Mutal is almost certainly the next city spot, then I can go either NW or SW depending on what the Scout sees and which direction looks safe. Assuming the Scout survives this turn of course, he's on a hill next to a lion, so odds are in his favour, but him dying this turn is not impossible Researchwise, all city spots in the west have a sheep as the first food resource. In RTR, sheep are of course a prize game hunters track for days. So I need Hunting to use those sheep. It's interesting, the capital has an irrigated wheat, the best food tile next to it, but it looks like I will not research Agriculture for a while. My current plan is to go Hunting-AH, slot in Agri before AH if I have time, and probably Archery after AH as I do need some defences in my cities |
