LURKER THREAD- No Players

Recent developments:
As already mentioned Superdeath finally defeated Gandhi's army and now controls all of Korea. When Gandhi was beaten JP sniped two of Gandhi's three cities for the gold before gifting them to Superdeath. That's the kind of thing he does.

Sumeria (on Japan) was taken out by Flunky (Zara in Indonesia, see Oceania edition). This is mostly notable because the Great Lighthouse fell into Ethiopian hands.

Torn between excitement at this update and sadness that it means there are no more coming. frown

As of now, who would you rate globally as the three players most likely to win overall, Civac? Sounds like Flunky's position especially has improved a lot since the Oceania overview?
Past Games: PB51  -  PB55  -  PB56  -  PB58 (Tarkeel's game)  - PB59  -  PB60  -  PB64  -  PB66  -  PB68 (Miguelito's game)     Current Games: None (for now...)

Honestly, I'm not sure. JP thinks Frozen and Dulland in Africa are likely to win. They are 10-20k beakers ahead of most of their competition but they are also quite small. Maybe they can grab more land very cheaply with rifles. If so their huge tech advantage will likely go all the way. Flunky and JP himself are the other two likely candidates. They each have 25 cities or so. Flunky's problem is that he has too many coastal cities which are both very vulnerable and can't hang in the Industrial Era. WP and Plemo are very big but perhaps too far behind on tech.

I will post periodic updates of world events. Some of the continent overview's are already out of date. There were no real suprprises though. Things largely developed as predicted.

Both Dulland and Frozen have very recently launched wars against their neighbors. We'll see how that goes...

Jesper Portus has taken out Aristobolus in India and is now consolidating his empire while catching up on research. He has Ragnar, a FIN leader, and could still play a role in this PB, as far as determining the winner is concerned...

Coco - who warrior-choked sd in South America very early on and then conquered him for good a few thousand years later - has now also conquered the Mayan civ and is close to overrunning the Boudicca Celts to claim sole possession of the South American continent. It's going to be interesting to see what his next moves will be.

In North America, the Chinese did get their hands on their cho-ko-nu special units (thanks to massive amounts of credit from other players), but still are fighting a losing battle against no less than 4 neighbors currently at war with them. Wahl-profi (playing Russia) is still my favourite to become the dominant power on that continent.

Donovan Zoi just got conquered in this current turn (173?) and lost to the player sitting alone in Australia.

If there is anything you'd like more detailed information on, please let me know...

Pic of the err .. day *coughs*

The tech leader, Frozen, has attacked his western neighbor metal and taken some fringe cities so far. He will still have to deal with one of the ubiquitous large ele/cat stacks.

The reason for this picture is a different one however. Please direct your attention to the upper left corner.

hatsoff

That is impressive.

I'll take Papa Bear up on his offer. Any news on SuperJm?

Little is known about superjm. He is pretty strong but not a superpower. As luck would have it we recently got one screenshot in JP's thread.

It seems he wants to bring the Arabian peninsula into the fold. The Americans sitting there are very weak after being attacked early repeatedly. Nevertheless, they utterly smashed two invasion attempts by Saladin (situated in Turkey) with horse archers. I'm not even sure what superjm has assembled is enough though the elephants will be very good obviously.

More from JP's thread.

You can see a few of Plemo's cities to the north (HRE, yellow), JP is east of superjm's position.

That would be a Horse Archer, or Berittener Bogenschütze.
