Is that character a variant? (I just love getting asked that in channel.) - Charis

[SPOILERS] By the Rivers of Babylon, FIN has no effect (on krovice)

My conclusion from your work though novice is that I hate it when other people have good 2 hammer starts and we don't. He lacks warriors but I don't think we are going to call him on that, and barbs will not exist for a short while, nor will they enter borders. If he is planning to research Pottery and he did pop Agriculture, then I suspect he will use both workers to improve food at the second city, grow to 2 and whip the granary there. The capital will probably build a third worker at 3 using a 1 pop slave and overflow out hammers for the granary, regrow and then get a settler from some combination of chops and whips, and throw out a warriors whilst growing, easily getting him 2 more warriors...but not for a while. However, he has Hunting, so the moment he hooks that copper he is stuck building axes and spears, and they suck up so many hammers now the only real risk I see is a lone axeman around T50. By which point we should be able have gotten Archery and that is not much of a threat.

Can move the new warrior NE onto the hill to have more vision prior to moving him to the plains hill to guard the settler if you want.

I'm not sure if we have time for that, since the warrior needs to guard the workers as well.

Well, I think it might be possible. The warrior would still be 1 turn ahead of the settler and I don't think the workers actually leave the borders.

We want to road towards the city but I forgot we have to farm that corn first, so I guess we have time. It would suck to get injured or killed by that lion though.

Yeah, that's the main consideration IMO.

Yeah, I got it. Do we have an extended micro plan?

Turn 31:

SW and then nortwestwards with our scouting warrior, perhaps?

If the lion moves northwest we can safely scout the hill. We may want to move the warrior to the highlighted rice to prevent jungle growths. I don't really like the randomness of barbs, huts and events, and yet a jungle growth onto wet rice is worse than most events. I'm shocked that our mapmaker neglected to put city ruins here.

We have Whosit's graphs, so I put 1EP on him to hold on to them and the remaining 3 on Cheater Hater.

I don't have much of a micro plan. Chop the forests. Micro the second worker onto the corn and then grass hill south of the plains hill (basically timing corn farm to complete turn of settling, build work boat). Road that grass hill and then immediately move the worker to the grass forest to chop for a work boat, then farm the rice. The capital can do whatever, chop a third worker, slave something ASAP to keep the whip unhappy on cool down, build warriors, it depends on what we need.

I really am just waiting to see what the southern warrior uncovers. If we are going by the rush out front city plan, then really it's finding city sites for that copper and other stuff down there and working out when and how to claim it.

Do we want to road the hill S of City 2 or the hill to the east of that one? The latter seems slightly more useful to me.

I'm not sure what to do in our capital, but for City 2, growing to size 3 and double-chopping a settler seems to work out nicely, giving our workers something to do on their way back from farming the rice. I guess our capital grows to 3, whips a worker and uses it to chop a settler which then settles copper.

If that's our rough plan we won't really be using Pottery immediately and we could consider sneaking in Hunting first. That brings us closer to Archery and also lets us settle for the Pig (Not necessarily via the frontline city, that could come later).
