Automated Teller suggested: Quote:I think just asking for a reload (and deleting all the pics you have) can do it. Does this meet with approval? We'd have to reload back to the start of Mr. Cairo's turn 89. I will delete the screenshots I have with the map info, although obviously the genie's out of the bottle for general map knowledge. I'm very sorry. I hadn't checked the rules carefully enough.

Oh, sorry. I used to assume map trades were forbidden but some of the recent games I've been playing haven't had that rule, so I just assumed it was allowed.
Frankly, I don't have a problem with this. Boak would've offered some map trades eventually too, not realizing they're banned. If all players agree that this is ok, I think it's best to proceed with a rule change. The rule violation is effectively on both Mr.Cairo/nauf, so it is up to the other three players to agree whether or not it's ok. Really, the main argument in favor of proceeding with the rule change here is that you still have that information imprinted on you and informing your decisions regardless of what you delete.

What's the reason for the rule? I'm not really against it but I don't really understand the circumstances behind why the rule was created or the spirit of the rule.
However I also kind of agree with GKC, the cat is out of the bag now. You can't unsee what you've seen, and it seems allowing it for everyone is the only fair response. ![]() Im sure the map knowledge will only be used for circumnavigate usage... right?

In this game that's going to help us because he's going to go to the negotiating table with twitchy eyes and slightly too wide a grin and terrify the neighbors into favorable border agreements, one-sided tech deals and staggered NAPs."-Old Harry. With map trading enabled, the need to explore is limited after Writing. Most of what you want to see will have been seen by someone else, so why bother to explore it yourself when you can get to information from them? With map trading, there are some choices to make about who you trade your map to, and when, and how to make contact with people, but I think that those choices are less frequent and less interesting than choices of when, and how, and where to direct your units to explore. Also, I enjoy the process of directing my units across the map to reveal new tiles more than I enjoy the process of clicking a few places on the trade screen. Just strike out the rule against map trading and move on. Let’s not do the same thing with any of the other rules, okay? ![]() superdeath, do you object to this? I do not want to play my turn until I know you are on board with this.
