Anyway, I'll leave it to the actual players, maybe nobody has issue with it.
I agree. I also think it only should take one player having a problem with it for there to be some kind of penalty/response. Even if a majority thought it fine, it doesn't matter since the minority are appealing to the agreed upon rules.

To me, it's like playing a game of soccer, and deciding - without consulting the other players - that it is now legal for you to carry the ball around in your hands because it's simpler.

Diplo should be done only in this fucking thread. Goddamn it. Of course negotiating in real time is better! That's why its not allowed!!! You have to do it in thread post by post careful about who else is going to real it. This is fucking bullshit. You can't go off in a corner and feel free to negotiate something in real time. Do it in the thread or not at all. Your totally fucking with the spirit of the game. I seriously will quit if this is done again. I don't give a fucking shit that you tell us about it afterwards. Assholes. Just Assholes.
That didn't take long.
Good old Lewwyn.
I have to run.

Well, I definitely have enough of this bullshit. So either they quit it right now or there'll be a world of hurt in the future. I'm not going to keep let them go on like that while majority of other players are unhappy on how the game develops.

This stuff is why I'm never playing another Pitboss. Something about the format brings out the worst in people. I don't know if its all the attention or the number of players but you generally don't have this level of rules flouting in a PBEM, at least partly because PBEM doesn't need as many rules. You have to trust people aren't save scumming, but beyond that, it does pretty much what it says on the tin.
I've got some dirt on my shoulder, can you brush it off for me?

Good work Mist.
LP and ASM clearly broke the rules there, and that's not the first time they've done so. I'm not sure why it's so difficult for them to grasp why it wasn't ok for them to do that.

ASM is like Catwalk. He signed up for a completely different game than the rest of the players. Unfortunately while Catwlk did let go and move on with a plausible excuse, ASM stubbornly keeps true to his interpretation of what the game is about. Unfortunately for him, that vision is at odds with general consensus. Something will have to give here.
LP on the other hand is a try-hard. He just can't let go and take a game easy. That's why he keeps gaming the timer and jumping at little advantages like chats with ASM when they present themselves ( since it's not his fault, right? ASM started and he just played along </sarcasm> ). The unhealthy competitiveness bit was aimed at him and I really hope it makes him pause and think a bit.
In general, the problem is that some players can't split the concepts of "trying to win" and "having fun" and that makes them creep away from what this game was intended as. If you try to get the win by any means you start slipping onto a dangerous territory, even if you still *think* you're having fun.
The bottom line from this affair - if I feel it's needed I'll be heavy handed enough to have people call of this game ( saves all of them 6 months of something they won't enjoy ) or replace me ( gives them reason and time to reassess what this mess is all about, an object to vent frustrations on and a clean slate to carry on )

So in a non-ASM post it looks like Mali has seen Rome's borders but doesn't want to make contact, and Rome has seen Mali's borders but doesn't want to make contact
