Is that character a variant? (I just love getting asked that in channel.) - Charis

Interesting. In PBEM23, exploiting the same quirk, luddicator got a white peace deal from us for free and refused to replay when we complained.

Personally I would have not played on in 23 after that happened, for the reasons you mentioned. luddite was just wrong.

There is a simply method that should stop such problems happening in future and doesn't require diplomacy. Basically, every time you send out a trade that involves resources or cities or gpt, the proposing player should type into the window exactly what each side is offering in the deal. If there is a discrepancy when the receiving player views the offer, they have to reject it. So long as the proposer takes a screenshot as proof (not exactly onerous) then if there is a problem a reload can be justified quite easily, but this should also cut down on the amount of reloads needed (ie because 1 player is a fucking idiot and accepted the offer despite knowing they shouldn't).

I guess the typing is more onerous than the screenshotting, but yeah, that's a good idea Krill.

Could just be

You give: ivory, dyes
Krill gives: spice, sugar.

Not exactly that onerous, really, and it's not like it's transmitting any additional information, it is primarily there as a failsafe to keep the game moving and limit the amount of reloads given. I fully expect some players would prefer not to do and I don't see any reason to force them to, I'd just say that they will not get a reload if a mistake like that happens.

Isn't there a separate bug where if you don't have your mouse hovering over the text box that it won't show up on the recipient's end? But yeah this could be an improvement.

I think it came up in pitboss 9 with their "declare war on X" trade screen option. I vaguely recall someone getting an offer for free stuff because the text didn't make it.

So preliminary estimates have Scoopin finishing up MoM T100 and plako finishing on T97. Have I missed anyone else going for it? popcorn
