An opportunity to finally play against Speaker and Sullla ey? Well, considering it was Sulllaâs website that first brought me to Realms Beyond, coupled with Pitboss 2 being my first taster of MP action; this may well be an opportunity for me to come out of BtS retirement.
However, youâve set a very specific framework that is very tailored to your style of play. Considering that youâre looking for 24 players minimum for this (not including any potential dropouts or ded lurkers or backups etc.) and asking them to play against a very good player in his own backyard to use an Americanism. Iâd bet good money that Team Spulllaâs third person would be no newbie to the MP world. Now, donât get me wrong as thatâs not intended to be provocative. Youâre merely stating the game type that would interest you and seeing if enough people share that interest, I understand that.
If you struggle to fill the 12 slots necessary, would you perhaps be willing to play a game with slightly less unique rules (from the perspective of this community). Always War would likely not be a problem. No diplo is definitely not my preferred style but I could deal with it I guess considering the large number of players. Medieval start though, in my opinion, is unnecessary and removes a vital part of the game (for me, the start is one of the more interesting parts to play!). I suspect that being a bit less strict on the rules would encourage more players, I could be wrong though.
As for Scooters suggestion to âpick teamâs. I suspect that Speaker would be against this and I would echo his sentiment. This would undoubtedly produce a more fair game and much more interesting for the lurkers, however, you would have to liaise heavily between your teams and it would be good to side with people that you knew you could work with. It also could just come down to the team captain calling all the shots and controlling all 3 civs as some elaborate puppet master.

. I expect the game will start before I get back from my travels, but if someone is willing to get my civ started, I'll sign-up to take over when I get back. Or just play on a team with someone.
