Is that character a variant? (I just love getting asked that in channel.) - Charis

Well it depends what the other warrior is doing. Are we simply sending him out? Or are we going SE-SE and circling Around the SE of PB3? In which case the warrior will A) see incoming and B) can be headed home while we send out the just made warrior. This leaves the cap only undefended for a few turns in which one warrior is going and one is coming.

We don't now how long the isthmus is to the NE, for all we know we are on a hub based map and that is the way to the hub. We shouldn't assume that we are going to use him for home defence.

So are we sending the current warrior NE instead of SE?

That's the point though. Now we can only explore two of NW, NE and SE without wasting scout turns and keep PB3 safe. There isn't a choice any more that allows us to explore all of them efficiently.

Okay, let's leave the north fish area unscouted until we have sufficient units then and scout east and south with the scout. We won't be settling the fish or crab soon anyway given that we need many other techs before fishing.

How many warriors do we plan on popping out before our first settler? Is 2 overdoing it, growing to size 3?

The third (counting the starting warrior as first) warrior will not be completed by growth to size 3. It would by growth to size 4. Size 4 and AH>Mining>BW might be best because that enables a 60 hammer slave into the settler, the third improved tile could be the sugar and that can be given over to the second city.

I hope that isn't where copper or horses are.

If we get two extra warriors, would you feel more comfortable scouting with the first two? We have pretty good advance warning to the NW, with a hill on the border of our second ring, possibly letting us send the third warrior a little bit west.
