Can't be arsed to do a summary - I'd rather make a cup of tea and sup it like the queen...
I'm tired - can I just say that if anyone has a yappy little shitty dog - make sure it doesn't howl and bark whenever you aren't in - at least leave the radio on or something so it doen't keep me awake at night. Seriously, I was this close to braking into theor house - setting up my bass amp in their bedroom cupboard and waiting for them to come home, brush their teeth, get into bed and turn the light off. I would then have played this at full volume:
Quote:15:13 me: Hey Serdoa - you want to have a chat before playing the turn?
15:14 Serdoa: sure why not
me: So whats in your back up stack?
15:15 Serdoa: uh well, you know, at least 20 PZ
me: heh
Serdoa: nah, we both have our power numbers, I guess we both know that we do not have much. It is pretty much a coin-flip who gets lucky in the battles
15:16 me: The war so far has been a lot of fun but yeah - we have ground each other down quite a bit
I can't believe my mud golem saved me!
15:17 Serdoa: yeah. I mean, I can promote my units to Commando, meaning I can make your life miserable by having to defend both cities
I can't believe that either SL - good pick your dwarves
me: Yeah - thats the only reason I picked the dwarf's!
Serdoa: I betcha lol
15:18 me: So I am willing to give you some stuff for peace if you are willing to negotiate?
15:19 Serdoa: I am - basically SL, either we find an agreement which gives me at least a small possibility to win or I would rather stay at war and either kill you or have you kill me. Playing around without any chances is normally not much fun to be honest
and I guess the same is true for you
15:20 me: yeah - Lets be honest - neither of us are actually getting anywhere *fast enough to make this worth continuing but I realise that you have invested a lot in this war and will thus expect some compensation
15:21 I also have no doubt that if we were to see this out - we would both drag ourselves even further behind
so - for peace here is what I propose - (and please feel free to haggle with me)
15:22 1 settler - I will build it after I replace my Mud golem.
I will then found a city for you
an gift
and
Sound good?
15:23 Serdoa: yeah, its a great start, carry on
me: ha ha
ok - lets talk about land
15:24 I would like to re-settle Kobe - maybe not on the copper - but 1NW
other than that - you have the rest between us
actual boundary will need drawing up - but this is my offer in principle
15:25 Serdoa: let me open the game quickly regarding the land
me: ok
15:26 The last thing I would like to offer is a nap - I'll let you look at the land first though
15:29 Serdoa: ok - in principle that border sounds ok. I just don't know where to place the city you will gift me, nowhere is food or even a river :/
15:30 me: well - I can even walk the settler south of you lands if we remain at war
so long as you don't kill him!
15:31 Serdoa: south are the clowns
me: There is also a nice site toyour north
clams, incence
soething else i don't remember...
marble
Serdoa: marble
I put a city marker there already
15:32 yeah, still, great is something different in my book, but yeah, that is not your problem.
anyway, as for the land
15:33 I would also like to request that I will get the reagents and dyes in the south
15:34 me: Ok - there is actually a rice and elephant down there too that you could pick up
15:35 rice is towards clowns/clan a bit
4s of the reagents
15:36 here: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/18370161/FFH2PBE...ts/T40.JPG
15:37 do you like my artwork?
15:38 Serdoa: thats pretty awesome
15:39 but for the actual map: do you see the rice in the nw of your picture? above it are dyes and 2SW from the Sepulcher are Reagents - those are the resources I meant. What you show on your screenie is already settled by the clowns
me: this is the land that I wanted you to fight the clowns over rather than beating on me - I should have sent this shot to you 20t ago shouldn't i?
15:40 Yeah - that site you talk about is fine.
Serdoa: well, no, you should just have written an email when you realized I have 600 gold and stated "Hey, if you attack the clowsn, I send 4 Wood Golems with your trops"
15:41 me: yeah - bad move by me...
Serdoa: honestly, bad move by me as well, I didn't realize those things have 6 str didn't bother to check before
me: You could have pushed me!
xpost! lol
15:42 lots of sad faces in ere!
Serdoa: but hey, if we have fun fighting each other, maybe sometimes in the future we have fun beating together on someone else, who knows
15:43 me: My thoughts exactly
Idon't think I will feel safe until we agree that the only way for us to co-exist - is to beat on bob together
15:44 Serdoa: anyway, 1 settler, produced after you replaced your mud golem to a place I tell you (and sufficiently guarded at least some way - I'll try to have troops nearby but having a barb walk in the city after you settled it isn't much fun )
borders as discussed here
NAP till ?? you tell me. From my point of view we can make it game long and agree to beat on Bob at a time of your liking
15:45 me: A nap until T200 lets say for now and let talk about it again later? I am agreed that we should attack bob later on but for now I think we both need to build up our economies.
Serdoa: Fine with me.
15:46 me: one last thing actually
shall we remain at war?
until you decide where the settler is going?
I will be easier to guard in your borders than in the wild
15:47 if I need to move that waty
Serdoa: probably makes sense yeah. and can be used diplomatically as well - well, if one is doing diplomacy of course
me: I get bugged a lot from bob and tredje..
15:48 Come with being online!
15:49 Serdoa: well, I do not have much time, even when I am at home. Definitely did hurt my game - in PBEM14 (and probably 16) much more then in this one I guess but I can't get myself to write meaningless emails just so people feel better
15:50 me: I'm fine with it - I'll just email you when I think we need to talk.
Serdoa: yeah, please do so. I know it is not always easy to get a hold of me, but if there is something important I am always happy to talk about it.
15:51 me: BTW - bob founded ashen veil and built the shrine....
15:53 Serdoa: ah ok. wasn't sure who it was (well, didn't bother to try to find it out even). I knowed that I would lose it. My economy sucks and I had simply no place to expand too which was worthwhile. Especially with how long it takes to get all the worker techs in FFH. Great starting spot but shitty starting area :/
15:54 me: we aren't that far behind - he got a savant from a lair or something - he hasn't teched it yet thank god
15:55 tbh - you PZ's will serve you all game long - you should try and get edu - col - construction if you haven't already and run agristocracy
15:56 spread those farms high and wide and every new city will pay for itself
Serdoa: I try it, but really some more river would have been nice
15:57 me: What is the island like to your south?
can you see much of it?
16:00 Serdoa: nah, not enough. but I think it has the pristine pass thingy on it if I remember correctly
16:01 me: hmm - well I suppose PZ's will deal with gargoyles in numbers
but that is a bit shit
Serdoa: yeah. and it means even more techs to have galleys to ferry those PZs over as well...
16:02 me: yep - well - let me know where you want the settler and I'll give you an eta after the next turn.
16:03 Serdoa: ok. I guess I'll settle that marble spot but you will need several turns before that settler is finished I guess, so I'll take my time and think about it
me: ok - just email me if there is anything else - hopefully we can get some trades going later on too.
16:04 Serdoa: well, road is finished as soon as you settle your copper city #
me: yep!
Thanks everyone - I think I got a pretty good deal actually - especially when you look at this:
I still have Barny, who will be rebuilt next turn and I kept 2 cities.
I am financial and so my Agristocracy farms are beasts - I need to plan a use for my next G Eng - maybe bulbing isn't the best solution this time... I am tempted to explore some wonder options - maybe Glib but we shall see.
Check this out:
Yeah - I was definitely going to lose this war had it gone on....
So what does post war hold for the Luchuirp? This game is very strange now. We had 6 civs start and we haven't lost anyone, but, we have 2 civ's that have sped into the lead. On top of that I think that we have 4 civ's that have fallen quite far behind....
Bob and Iskender have used the various wars to build up their farmers gambit to such a position that they are now far ahead of anyone else. Admitedly Bob's score is inflated by land points due to creative but he has various techs on me and many cities (I forget 5 or maybe 6). Iskender is on 4 cities and has been in Agristocracy for an age now. He will be teching very nicely.
The rest...
Clan - ummm.... not sure what they are up to really but I have a horrid feeling it involves the Sons of the Inferno. They cast their world spell ages ago and have choked Sareln with 2 archers and a wolf rider for quite a while now. All the while their GNP has been poo. Why haven't they teched to CoL yet? Even the clan could have gotten there by now... Wait - Acheron was placed on an island... If they have found an easy route to get the Sons back to the mainland then they may be beelining Sailing. That would be unfortunate.
Amurites - seems to be riding the choke and has settled his copper city. Not sure if the copper is online yet or if he has BW - I have completely lost track. Long term potential has been hit hard but Sareln is the saviour if the Sons do arrive in his worldspell followed by bronze warrior-pults.
Sheaim - Failed in his attack on me but set me back a long way. Actually - he managed that by just being there. I made a huge blunder in not trying harder to get him to attack the clowns. Never mind. Live and learn. Potential now - well - I don't know that he actually got anything of benefit from the peace deal with me. A little crappy land he might not have gotten before but that is it - and a settler of course. Nap till t200 is great from my perspective - he won't be able to hurt me after t200 and I will run my golems through his lands and fuck with his zombies - oh yes.
Luchuirp - The one thing that stands me in good stead for a comeback is this and this alone - Financial. I am the only financial player in the game. That means that for every farm I have (and I will be building them everywhere pretty much) I get 1c more than anyone else. Yep - thats pretty significant. If I manage to get some time to re-build, I can tech to Engineering/Sorcery and go kick some ass. Sidar/Clowns beware.
urgh... damn barbs! Fortunately it is on a desert hill not a regular hill but even so - It isn't going to be easy to capture. Perhaps bronze warrior-pults or maybe even a genuine catapult needs to be deployed...
First thing - notice how badly the land deal with Serdoa affects me! It doesn't really...
City 1 - Sheep, Slik, Remnants of Patria
Grasslands to the south and plains to the north - Can spread irrigation here easily and so it will be heavily farmed - plains forests will be lumbermilled in time. Long term - Hybrid city.
City 2 - Kobe mark II - Corn, Copper
Serdoa allowed me to resettle this - so I will - The location is 1NW of the copper though and actually - this city isn't bad. With lots of farms and mines/Lumbermills - it will be decent.
City 3 - lotsa FP's - commerce city but still with decent production - a really good site but I can't settle it with out beating on that barb city that has sprung up. Would have settled it instead of Kobe had the Sheaim not been there.
City 4 - In a disputed location.... Need to check border agreements with Clan and Sheaim really - a nice frontline against Bob - will need settling asap and garrisoning with strong troops if I am to found it.
City 5 - Fish and Beaver - nerver should fish and beaver be used in the same sentance...
Filler - can work a few tundra river aristofarms too so not too bad.
City 6 - Fish and Beaver - damn it!
Edit - I am not planning on founding these in numerical order. At the moment I am leaning towards: 2,1, kill barb city, 3...... depends on how the barb city fits in...
Double Edit - I find it really funny that my PBEM2 thread has been passed in views by this one already! Go go lurkers! Have yourselves a panda pop.
