Don't mean to beat the dead horse, but I seriously cannot get over how incredible Sunrise's start is. Two wet corns, two PH golds, two riverside grassland gems, riverside grassland copper, grassland iron.... And that's all within 5 tiles of his capital. If he doesn't finish in the top 3 that'll be a travesty.

it would be different if there were any other starts that were nearly that great!
Also it is interesting that Rome (with no iron) is thinking of fleeing to the sea to get out of his way - leaving even more room and security for Egypt.

As annoying as LP's gamespy-style double-moving is, that was probably legit.
ASM had no way and no units to reinforce the city of BTS. ASM failed to sentry that approach. Even if he had some hammers invested into an archer (to whip), he would have killed a single chariot before losing the city.

What the hell was ASM thinking, with no defenders in a pink dot city in an AW game?
I mean, I find LP playing the timer to be in bad taste, but everyone knew things like this were going to happen going into this game. LP even made a post summing up the effects this would have on the game, stating that with double moves possible, people should be extra careful with their cities.
A part of me really respects and admires LP's ruthless determination. Him and Nabaxo faced a shitty start, and now control one of the stronger positions in the game. At the same time, it doesn't really feel legit. His neighbors are basically handing him all that juicy land on a silver platter, and no one seems capable of stopping him.

Yeah, I actually like LP as a player. Maybe because I haven't ever fought him outside of Gamespy, but still :P

Trust me, if any of you guys defending LP ever played against him in a game with a turn-timer, you'd be livid by the end of the game. Its just unnecessary and obnoxious and pretty much everyone who was in PB4 except rego who has no soul was ready to kill him by the end of the game.
I'm not taking anything away from him as a player, he's obviously quite capable. But he'd get a lot more credit if he was a bit more gracious and a bit less hyper-competitive.
Note: None of this has anything to do with ASM's situation. That's just him being stupid.
I've got some dirt on my shoulder, can you brush it off for me?

Xenu's bluster about settling the mountains might be just the right note... Seven is paranoid enough that sugar and spice are unlikely to catch him off guard, but Xenu's posts are doing a good job of making it about settling instead of all out attack.
We'll see how it plays out. Sadly (for everyone else) the timing is probably too late to deny pyramids regardless.

lol. For the record, I find his current actions annoying. I'm sure they are probably the same as the ones in PB4, which just goes to prove the point that no players that are involved in a game can rationally debate in-game issues.

Kind of like you found Dave going for UN victory in PBEM17 annoying even though you tried it in PBEM1?
