That would be a little bit unfair, but that player could be the honorary winner. wink

So I said I would close sign ups in October, which I will do with this message. There are still some things to be decided by you the players

  1. What map to play? There were some ideas floating around, but I would say that there is no consensus right now? The important factors from my side are: Everybody on the same landmass, early player interaction.
  2. Team game. I quite a few mentioned this, but I would like to shot this idea down after careful consideration. Main reasons are the amount of players and because team games aren't the usual game type played here and for a bug test the usual game type is better.
  3. Krill brought up the topic of later starts.
  4. Pick method.

I am happy with a good old fashioned 6 player ancient FFA. And with 6 players a snake pick seems reasonable.

Regarding map script and map maker, whatever. Rather not play a highly mirrored map though.

Ancient FFA. Id prefer completely random picks that are just given. No choices, ect. Im still in favor of either Pangaea or Team Battleground- Four corners.

Pangaea map - don't care too much about balance for a game testing a mod. Ancient FFA, as per usual. Snake Pick shouldn't take too long with only 6 players.

I'd be ok with a snake pick. I'd be ok with completely random, too.

I am not sure what sort of bugs we would expect - would doing something to assure that everyone has different traits be useful?

Snake pick please. Not a fan of other pick methods. Any map willl do, I like inland sea or donut, but given constraints, lets do pangaea.

There are no changes regarding traits in this version, so no need to go that way.

In other news: The majority of players prefered the following settings:

Snake pick
Pangea style map
Ancient start
FFA

I've contacted Commodore, who volunteered as a map maker and the thread will soon move to it's own subforum.

what else do we have to figure out? I assume we aren't banning anything. Does the mapmaker pick difficulty & mapsize? Also, thanks Commodore!!
