Tell me about it. The row of tiles that includes Dunmanifestins' sheep is equidistant between my cap and Koreas' cap. Klatch is founded for food that would be Koreas', Lancre is equidistant with Ottomans, the food is closer to them. That means I would have had to settle south, towards Byz, for a plains cow and unirrigated rice that is closer to Maya than me.

My land is sub-par even compared to the generally sucky level of land quality, I'm that lacking in food resources. I said that earlier, but Sullla disagreed...well, you can judge for yourselves. That said, when I have a good start and get left alone, everyone else bitches that I'll run away with the game, so there is a catch-22 there.

As it is...being aggressive has worked out for me. I have 2 dead neighbours, and 8 cities, which is joint top atm, and my excuse for Kneck and Bad Ass is that I need both of them to protect Dunmanifestin (true, that is why they are planted on those tiles, I can reach all of them from one central position). However, they are both decent cities, Kneck is likely my IW city, and Bad Ass can get the corn irrigated and work a few cottages and hills once it is grown.

Right now I just need to grow and get some cottages worked in all my cities, which probably means I need to slave out a couple more workers, and spread religion. I've reverted from the funder role in PAT to the Bodyguard, what with India stacking up. But that seriously isn't a problem for us or me, we've all seen what late game growth can do for you if you go the hammer economy route.

Gist of the story: India don't kill a tactically insignificant sentry WC (the misclicked one) and I don't destroy CUDDLEs sentry net. Tactically and strategically in their favour, which is why it isn't a bad offer of compensation.

Still expect them to turn it down though, but then I can say that I did offer them the easy out.

I royally fucked this turn up, making 4 individual mistakes that meant I had to readjust my tactics 3 times.

2 mistakes were misclicks, the sentry chariot which is 1Nof where it is supposed to be (clicked on the right tile, then my mouse slipped as I unclicked the button), and mismoved some workers.

The third mistake was that I didn't check for Engineering. My entire defence has been pinned arounda sentry chariot that could see the tile 1SW of Zingara and watch any slowmover stack position before it could invade, giving me 1 turns notice. This meant that I could only lose the WC to a HA strike, but with Eng and 2 workers, Ottos could have roaded and hit with a mace, and moved in a large stack of 1 movers with cats and all, and I would have no time to get Carthage to move their units to help me.

So I repositioned pikes to move them into forests next turn (my fourth mistake; if India were to move the stack at me I'd have half the pikes I should have defending my HE city of Lancre), to declare war and move 2 sentry WC underneath them to scout out the lands further inside Ottoman territory. THEN I saw Otto had Eng, and I was forced to declare war this turn to see what the hell they were doing, which was where I saw this picture:

Then Carthage informed of just how dire their military is frown That was when I told England to Declare, because England is going to be sending stuff to help out Carthage, and I don't want to see another argument over war decs (which India should have figuredout beforeEngland got the chance to declare tbh).

India didn't build enough knights. Carthage should have too many units for a mainly HA stack to take out, especially because of the 4 pikes that will be in the city. I'll pickoff a few HA here and there, help whittle down their numbers, and it looks like India has already deleted 2 fast workers.

I really hope India moves in to pillage. Going to be fun to slaughter the 1100+ hammers that are in that army.
